Sight seeing:
An ideal base for visiting all of Provence with Avignon at just a couple of kms. The Papal city provides many cultural activities with all its historical heritage, the Popes Palace and many museums and art galleries. Also a choice of gastronomically activities ranging from 3 star restaurants to small charming bistros. An ideal base for visiting the heart of Provence, many famous towns are attainable within a short drive, St Rémy de Provence, Aix en Provence, the imposing Baux de Provence plus the Camargue National Park with wild bulls and flamingo’s. The Luberon hills are near with the hilltop villages such as Gordes and Bonnieux waiting to be discovered. Antique lovers will enjoy visiting L'Isle sur la Sorgue with its famous ' Marché à la Brocante '
Local activities:
Shopping can be done at the local market with all the colours and perfumes of the region or in Villeneuve Les Avignon, at a couple of kms from the house. There is also a shopping centre nearby with a supermarket and all other useful shops or of course in Avignon. Wine lovers will appreciate the nearby cellars of Chateauneuf du Pape, Lirac and Gigondas where wine tasting is available.

Nimes with its Roman amphitheatre is to be visited, as is Uzès, known for its bustling Saturday market and renaissance architecture. a marvellous experience is paddling your own canoe down the Gardon under the imposing monument of Le Pont du Gard just outside Uzès. There is a golf course in Avignon and even a school of parachutisme in Pujaut for those who would like to try their hand...
