Carpentras holiday villa: Beaumes de Venise

Booking with the owner of the property was a pleasure and he was very helpful. He e-mailed details of recommended restaurants, local wines and places of interest, all of which were also contained in a folder at the villa along with information on the use of the electrical items. The villa was in a most beautiful location and the views were outstanding. The pool and pool area were very clean, however there were parts of the garden and house that would benefit from a little TLC. We did not use any restaurants whilst we were in Provence, as after driving for most of the day, the evening hi-light was to sit on the terrace to eat our meal and partake in a bottle or three of Chateauneuf de Pape (bottle year 2005 we can highly recommend from Domain Durieu in Chateauneuf de Pape itself at 16 euros and their white wine at 18 euros). We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family and we look forward to returning again at some point in the future. There were five in our family, 4 adults (2 fortysomethings, 1 late sixties, 1 over seventy and a 16 year old, all of which had a great holiday- however I do not think it would be entirely suitable for families with very young children - i.e. under 5 )
