Stunning architect-designed villa with pool. Les Vallons has a beautiful, mature, garden, set in a large plot of land to guarantee complete peace and privacy. Les Vallons is located close to the beautiful hilltop village of Murs, and close also to the celebrated town of Gordes. It is perfectly positioned to easily access the many fine towns and villages of the Luberon, with their street markets and great restaurants. The house is equipped to a high standard throughout, including a gourmet kitchen and large (50ft) living room. As well as a large vine-shaded terrace by the house, there is a separate pool and pool house area, including a summer kitchen. Set in its own large plot with private drive, Les Vallons is the perfect place for a relaxed holiday in one of the most stunning regions of France. Other attractions such as Avignon, Arles, Orange, Aix, Marseille and St Remy are all within easy reach.

This is the most highly sought-after location in Provence, only five miles from Gordes, one of the most beautiful hilltop villages in the region, well known for its spectacular setting, many excellent restaurants and wonderful local market. The idyllic hilltop village of Murs, with bar, restaurant and village shop is just one mile away. The villa is ideally located in the Luberon Natural Park, an unspoilt area that offers a multitude of walks and off-road cycle rides. The famous atmospheric hill towns of Provence, such as Roussillon, Ménerbes, Bonnieux and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse are all nearby and the historic cultural cities of Avignon (20 miles), Aix-en-Provence (45 miles), Nîmes (55 miles) and Arles (40 miles) are within easy reach. The beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean are only one hour’s drive away.

Notes: There is a large & very well-equipped kitchen with oven, two hobs, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer. A separate utility room contains the newly-installed hot water and central heating system, two washing machines and dryer. The living room has a high, beamed ceiling, with large open fire, and full sliding glass doors opening on to the terrace. There is a separate dining area with table and eight chairs. The living room opens on to a large, shaded terrace, with a further dining table and eight chairs. The master bedroom has a separate WC and large dressing room. Bedroom two has twin beds and fine views. The main bathroom has bath with shower head, bidet, two hand basins and a shower stall. Bedroom 3 is fully self-contained, with shower, basin & WC. All three bedrooms are fully en-suite. All floors are marble-tiled. The house is decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. There is a large 12x6m mosaic-tiled pool with pool house, set in a beautiful mature garden.

We had very high expectations of Les Vallons and were not in any way disappointed. After a drive of several hours the calm of the house and garden was exactly what was needed.
We have been visiting the region for several years (sometimes twice a year) and this is by far the most beautiful and relaxing place we have stayed, although Le Mas des Herbes Blanches just outside Joucas remains a favourite. Everything about the house was as described or even better. Mercifully, there is no television so conversation, music and board games was the order of the evenings when we stayed in. There is a comprehensive selection of cd's and board games available at the house.
The owner and his representative in France were both a delight to deal with - as was the cleaning lady, despite my wife and I arriving three hours before changeover time.
Due to its location, a car is absolutely essential for a stay at Les Vallons. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence - not exactly around the corner is well worth a visit - if only for Joël Durand chocolate. The town is known for the Roman ruins (Glanum) which are quite spectacular and the sanitorium where Vincent van Gogh spent some time - not to mention being the birthplace of Nostradamus.
The quality of food available in local restaurants is excellent. Le Fournil, l'Arome and le Tenil in Bonnieux are all worth a visit. Le Tenil has a wonderful panoramic view taking in the flooodlit Chateau de Sade (yes, that Sade!) at night from the upstairs dining area and Nicolas, the owner, speaks very good English. Reservations are essential at L'Arôme and Le Fournil. English is spoken at le Fournil but not at L'Arôme, although the owner (Clara whose husband is chef) is charming. A decent lunch can be had at several restaurants in the village of Goult which is, in any case, worth a visit.
I feel as though I am rambling but my love and enthusiasm for the region with never change and Les Vallons has made my recent stay so much more enjoyable. I cannot recommend it too highly. My wife and I hope to return very soon.
