Set amongst beautiful lavender fields St Laurent du Verdon is a typically picture postcard Provencal village of small stone houses with red tiled roofs. A few minutes drive away is Lac St Croix where you can sail, windsurf or just picnic by the lakeside. Across the lake is the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon with spectacular views, famous walking routes and, for the brave, rockclimbing or bungee jumping. Kayaking and white water rafting is also available further through the canyon.
Around 10km away are the medieval market towns of Aups and Riez where twice weekly markets are held with an abundance of locally produced food. The nearest airports, Marseilles or Nice, are a couple of hours drive away as are the beaches of St Tropez. The cultural centre of Aix en Provence is within 1 hours drive.
The village has a small restaurant, normally open from May to October and can supply take-away pizzas. The village shop also provides a breakfast service of fresh coffee and croissants.
