Stylish, comfortable 'loft style' studio in a beautiful and well-maintained château surrounded by stunning Provence countryside. Situated in a small peaceful hamlet, this gorgeous 17c château in its own grounds, has a lovely pool and tennis court for guests to enjoy. The large beamed studio apartment has a double bed, sofa bed, seating area with comfy sofa and armchair, dining table and chairs, a well equipped kitchen area with hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and a separate shower room where there is also a washing machine. There is everything you need to make this a really relaxing and enjoyable stay in this absolutely beautiful and unspoilt area of Provence.

St Laurent du Verdon is a tiny, peaceful village, situated in the midst of the stunning Provencal countryside. There is everything you could possibly want to explore nearby, medieval hilltop villages, the beautiful Lac Ste Croix for picnics, sailing, windsurfing, wonderful walks, cycling and riding, the spectacular Gorges du Verdon, perfumed lavender fields, thriving colourful markets, wine producing chateaux and good restaurants. The pretty market towns of Aups and Riez are 20 minutes away with the elegant and sophisticated Aix en Provence just a 60 minute drive. The beaches of the Cote d'Azur are 75 minutes away and an easy day trip but you may prefer to just relax at home by the pool! Not far from Italy, you can even visit the Friday market at Ventimiglia! The chateau is also gorgeous in winter, romantic, warm and cosy, cloudless blue skies and, for the energetic, ski slopes just a 90 minute drive! Nearest airports are Marseille and Toulon 75 minutes and Nice 90 minutes.

Things to do: You are in the midst of fantastic walking and cycling country. Go riding round the lake at Artignosc, enjoy the wonderful views, and even tether up your horse and go for a dip en route! Take a boat or canoe from Quinson and sail up the Gorges with a picnic and soak up the breathtaking scenery. Perhaps you would like to learn to windsurf or sail - all available at the beautiful Lac St Croix. In April and May, wild flowers and poppies abound in all the fields and meadows and, in June and July, enjoy the heady perfume of the magnificent surrounding lavender fields which are in full bloom. There are great markets to visit, Riez and Aups (20 minutes) on Thursdays and Saturdays and Lorgues (40 minutes but worth the journey!) on Tuesdays. Explore the many pretty hilltop villages and restaurants, spend a day wine tasting at the many local chateaux! Or, just stay home, play tennis, have a barbeque, or relax by the pool.....you will not be bored!

A lovely week in peaceful surroundings

We loved our week in this studio in chateau St. Laurent du Verdon. The appartment was clean and had everything we needed, especially the cool-box was appreciated, it was daily in use on our cartripps. The studio was a little hot in the nights, but the fan helped a lot. The pool and garden was also nice and tidy, a great place to enjoy some wine in the evenings. There is so much to see and to do in the surroundings that one week was too short for everything. We must be back..

Absolutely lovely apartment where we had the most relaxing week I've had in a long time! Lots of fantastic places to visit but also a great place to just chill out by the pool and get lost in a good book. Highly recommend staying here.

Perfect Getaway!

Both the Chateau itself and this wonderful apartment are just perfect for a peaceful holiday or romantic getaway. The apartment is beautifully furnished, comfortable, cosy and has everything you need for your stay including everything you'd need to prepare a nice dinner in the Chateau if you fancy a night in. You can even take your dinner on the Chateau grounds as the owner also provided a small (clean!) barbeque and coolbox.

Although there are so many fantastic places to eat within a short drive you might find these too tempting.....

Everything was perfectly laid out for us and spotlessly clean for our arrival. One particularly thoughtful and useful aspect was the amount of information and guides the owner has provided about the local area. For someone like me who had not been to this part of France before, this was so useful in helping us find out the best places to go. (The Gorge du Verdon is an absolute must see).

A car is essential to allow you to explore the fantastic surrounding countryside and lovely villages nearby. Thw town of Riez has a great selection of traditional shops and restaurants and is only 15 minutes by car.

All in all, I can't recommend this property highly enough. We loved our time there and for anyone seeking a getaway from it all, or experiencing an area of the France that's perhaps less well known, this is perfect!

Superb apartment in great chateau

We have just spent a super week in this elegant, charming apartment. It was well furnished and maintained to a high standard with all necessary appliances supplied.
I agree with all the other reviews as it is the perfect base to explore this fantastic area of Provence. Within short drives there are numerous things to see and lots to do. We went walking, had lovely picnics and don't miss hiring a little electric boat from Quinson to sail through the gorge to L'Esperron. 3 hours of peace and quiet and delightful scenery. The local restaurant in the village served the best Coquelles Sans Jacques ever and the local markets were a delight. We ate well and, almost, healthily throughout the week. If you don't count the pate de foie and delicious cakes and breads which we couldn't resist!!
I would certainly recommend it to a couple who would enjoy a romantic apartment, exploring the area or just relaxing around the pool or in the grounds. A tennis court is available for the more energetic.
