Authentic 12th century Templar Castle set on more than 11 acres of fossil rich land, in the heart of Haute Provence, with a commanding 360 degree view over the turquoise waters of the Lake of Castillon and the towering mountains of the Verdon. Secluded on its own knoll, yet only 100 km from Nice and the Cote d'Azur, and two kilometres from the village of Saint Andre les Alpes, come and enjoy total luxury, in our officially rated four-star apartments. Ideal for three to four families, the castle has just recently had the addition of a huge 14m x 7m pool overlooking the lake which will provide everyone with hours of fun Within the château are three luxurious apartments, each with it’s own kitchen, living room, and at least one large bathroom per bedroom. All are equipped to the highest of standards. On the grounds of the Château stands the medieval church dedicated to Saint Martin, amid the ruins of houses that have blended with the wild limestone landscape.

The whole castle comprises three exquisite apartments that can host three separate parties. Part of the castle is private, although by renting the whole castle, nobody else will be on site. The castle, officially rated four star by the local Tourist board, has been recently restored to its past grandeur. As we are in love with this beautiful fort that has seen so many generations in its walls, we have only allowed the best of noble workmanship and materials. You will enjoy three ultra equipped kitchens, 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, two of which are unique by being in the castle tower, hand carved furniture, ornate stone fireplaces and French ceilings, plus billiard table and TV/family room. Outside, the large 14m x 7m swimming pool with a beautiful stone deck and Rose Wood 8m pergola. Only the best linen is provided. We are sure you will fall in love with castle, just as we did many years ago. Ideal for large family gatherings and unique occasions.

The château is situated just 2km from the village of Saint André that is renowned for International paragliding competitions. The village hosts many small restaurants and coffee shops, and is thriving with activity: Provence markets and Local Arts and Crafts abound. The area is one huge playground, with all sorts of adrenalin sports available: canoe-kayak, white water rafting, the Verdon Gorges, hiking trails and lots of fishing in the stream that feed the vast lake of Castillon. Within 20km are the towns of Castellane, Entrevaux and Colmar-les-Alpes, all three fortified by King Louis XIV. During summer, the younger ones will be able to enjoy medieval fairs, pony rides and pedal boats on the Lake. During winter, just 30km from the castle, are the Riviera ski resorts of the Val d'Allos

Verdon Nature Park and Fossil Park: The castle is situated at the heart of the Geological Park of Haute Provence, a UNESCO recognized European Geo Park. The eleven-acre property is teeming with fossils and historical artifacts.

Hot Water Springs: This region of Haute Provence, also referred to as the 'The Hidden Alps of Haute Provence' is full of hot water springs that have been recognized since the Roman times. The town of Digne les Bains, some 50km north of the Castle is very well known for its sulphur water baths.
