Our luxurious villa, situated in a magnificent Golf and Country Club setting, overlooking the Luberon, is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. In the main house there are 3 bedrooms (2 king and 1 twin), l ensuite bathroom and l shower room, large lounge/dining area with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and bar area, cloakroom, mezzanine with small double sofa bed, TV/DVD and study area with telephone and broadband access; further cloakroom. Facing the pool and opposite the main house, there is a separate guest annexe which can be rented with the main house. This comprises a large bedroom with king size bed and space for cot and/or folding bed, shower room, kitchen annexe and cupboard with shelves and hanging space. There is a large swimming pool and a very popular spacious jacuzzi, lawn with shaded area, sun terrace and covered terrace with table and chairs, BBQ, table tennis and boules pitch. A wonderful house for sharing or extended families. Welcome pack.

Pont Royal is in the heart of Provençe, close to Aix en Provençe, Avignon, the Luberon, Arles, St Rémy and the Camargue. It is 40 minutes from Marseille Airport and the TGV stations of Avignon and Aix en Provence, 3 hours from Paris by train and 2 hours by car from the nearest ski resorts. The Mediterranean beaches are within one hour. Isle sur la Sorgue is known worldwide for its famous antiques market. The Gorges du Verdon are also with easy driving distance. During the summer, music and arts festivals take place in Avignon and Aix en Provence and there is a music festival in July at La Roque d'Antheron.

Additional information about rental rates

  • NB: If you do not want to rent the annexe as well as the house, please deduct £400 from the price quoted.
    In the low season, a Saturday changeover is not necessary and rates will be adjusted accordingly. There may be an additional heating charge during the winter season. A security/breakages deposit of £500 per week or part thereof will be required. This will be returned after your return from holiday.

    The jacuzzi is heated free of charge. Pool heating costs £100 per week.

    Welcome pack containing milk, water, wine, tea, coffee, fruit, butter, bread and biscuits will be provided on your arrival. 24 hour on site security. 24/7 English/French speaking property manager available to help. Extras: additional cleaning as required - payable directly to property manager.

Notes: There are six steps between lounge/dining area and bedroom area and there is a banister to aid the elderly or infirm. A staircase leads to the mezannine where the TV, DVD etc. and study area can be found. On the mezzanine there is a small double sofa bed and cloakroom. Outside there is a covered terrace with table and chairs for 8, built-in barbecue, boules pitch and table tennis table. A second terrace with table and chairs, adjoins the master bedroom and leads to the pool and jacuzzi which have an electrically operated cover. The pool is approx. 1 m deep in the shallow end and 2m in the deep end. We also have 4 loungers, 4 garden chairs, 6 deck chairs, 2 wooden chairs plus table and bench overlooking the Luberon. There is a wave pool, large swimming pool, tennis courts, pedalloes, rowing boats, riding and children's clubs which are totally separate from the villa but can be booked through Pierre et Vacances, availability permitting. Golf can be booked through the Golf Club.

The villas are situated on the 450 acre Seve Ballesteros designed golf course with views of the Luberon and the Alpilles. The golf course is 18 holes (6,303m, Par 72. There is also a driving range. The clubhouse has excellent amenities including a bar and restaurant and is open to non-members. There is a resident professional and lessons can be booked through the Clubhouse on 00 33 (0)4 90 57 40 79. There are several other golf courses within a one hour drive of Pont Royal. A new edition to Pont Royal is the 'Biomecaswing Centre' where you can get your golf swing checked out. Please check with the Golf Club for further information. There is also a health and beauty section at the Centre.

We have a fluent English/French speaking lady who manages our villa and who is available at all times to look after clients. She will arrange trips, baby sitting, cleaning etc. and will also help out whenever an emergency occurs. A cot and/or child bed can be provided free of charge if required.

Perfectly located from which to explore "la Belle Provence", provided you have a car. If, however, you prefer just to relax, there are lots of activites and amenities on site - great pizzas at La Farigoule!
(This is not recommended for city lovers, or those who want to go clubbing every night.)
The villa is exactly as described - and spotless. Stylishly furnished and decorated, it still exudes a warm and homely feeling, and was better equipped than our own home!
Enjoyed our trips to La Fontaine de Vaucluse (don't miss the Santons Museum) and Marseille where the open-top bus tour is worth taking. (Get off at Stop 4, go down some steps opposite and you'll find yourself in a secluded cove where you can have a great seafood meal at Chez Jeannot.)
Whilst we couldn't fault the villa, we noticed that the owner had taken up some recommendations which previous visitors had suggested in the Visitor's Book and we also met her manager who seemed very responsive and competent.
We have stayed in many luxury places around the world and this one is definitely one of our favourites. We have already started to recommend it to our friends and look forward to returning soon!
