This 2-bedroom house is situated on a hilltop on the border between the departments of the Vaucluse and Alpes de Haute Provence in the protected Luberon National Park. It has a large swimming pool, surrounded by terraced gardens below the house, and commanding views of neighbouring farms and vineyards. Amid 30 acres of pine forest, groves of black truffle-producing oak trees, fields and vegetation of the Luberon, the house is private and tranquil. The perched village of Pierrevert, which hosts the only 18-hole golf course within the Luberon's borders, lies 5 kilometres east of the property, and La Bastide des Jourdans is the same distance to the west. The balcony of the house offers spectacular star-gazing and views of distant Mont Sainte-Victoire, made familiar in the 19th and 20th century paintings of Cézanne, whose hometown of Aix-en-Provence is just 30 minutes away. The nearest substantial town is Manosque, gateway to the Gorges du Verdon, 15 minutes away.

Our house is just across the Vaucluse border in Alpes de Hautes provence in protected land of the Luberon National Park. The nearest villages include Pierrevert, La Bastides des Jourdans, La Tour d'Aigues, Pertuis, Ansouis, Cucuron, Bonieux and Gordes straddling the mountains of the Luberon. Aix-en-Provence is about 30-minutes from the house. The house is located along a popular bicycling route, the Luberon's only 18-hole golf course is about 5 minutes away. Other attractions in the region include the St. Michel Observatory and the Gorges du Verdon. There are hiking trails in the area and you are free to explore our 30 acres of land that includes forest and fields surrounding the house. There's horseback riding nearby, karting in the town of Manosque and tennis in the nearest town of Pierrevert.

Pierrevert a Great Place to Vacation

The house was all that was advertised. While a little difficult to find, when you do you will be most happy with every aspect. If pools are your thing then this is spectacular. If like me cooking is your thing then the kitchen is incredibly well equipped and you will have no problems at all. Terry is very helpful and his nearby manager was very welcoming on arrival but be warned he speaks French only.

Realistically however you will need a car for this property unless you plan to spend the whole time there.

I have no hesitation in recommending this property for rental.

Wunderschöne Lage im Wäldchen, wer die Ruhe sucht, findet diese hier. Das Umland bietet sehr viel zu sehen und es wird nie langweilig. Der Hausverwalter sollte einen Sprachkurs belegen, insbesondere da sein Arbeitgeber kein Franzose ist. Das Schwimmbad ist sehr schön und heisse Tage lassen sich so leicht ertragen.
