The villa is south facing with views, from the large terrace, towards the Gorge of Verdun (France's Grand Canyon) and taking in stretches of lavender fields & oak forests. In addition to 3 good-sized double bedrooms the property has 2 modern bathrooms with shower & toilet facilities. The kitchen is a recently fitted German design & contains all the equipment you would expect including; cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, blender, 2 fridges cooking utensils & crockery for 6 people. The living-room has a dining table to seat 6 with a further stone table on the terrace also to seat 6/8. The living room also has a wood burning designer fireplace with a full supply of oak logs. The swimming pool is 8x4 meters with a secure cover and is in the ground (au sol). The garden is 1200m² & has cherry, plum, mulberry, pine & olive trees. There is a garage containing a washing machine & there is a fixed outside private clothes line. The drive can accommodate 4/6 cars. 2006 PRICES STILL APPLY!!

The village of Cruis lies at the foot of Montqgne de Lure to the North. It is between Forcalquier and Sisteron. To the South can be seen the Luberon chain of mountains. The hills have an abondance of oak trees and everywhere you walk you release the aroma of wild herbs; including thyme, rosemary, sage and lavender. Aix-en-Provence is 11/2 hours drive and the coast approx. 2 hours. On bicycle there are many beautiful circuits to enjoy taking in the villages of Banon, Lurs, St. Michel l'Observatoire, Reillane, Dauphin etc. The area has a rugged appeal which man can never tame. It is partially affected by the mistral wind the benefit of which is the eternally deep blue skies and also the herb-laden aromas borne by the breezes. Throughout Spring & Summer months every other village has a fète to enjoy providing enchanting moments for people watching while sipping a cool pastis.

Superb villa, peaceful location

This is a fantastic 3 double bedroomed villa. It has been renovated to a very high standard, with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. A rarity with French rental properties. Its a real home. The main suit is particularly luxurious, with a large room, and superb ensuite. There are Solid Oak doors.

The kitchen is of high UK spec, with for example a Bosch top of the range cooker. There are all the pots and pans and utensils you would ever need in the cupboards.

The lounge is spacious, with nice old oak furniture, and Sky TV with UK chanels. Patio doors open onto a terrace, which has a large table for outdoor dining.

The villa sits detatched in its own gardens, and its own good sized and well maintained pool. It's 50m from a small country lane, but the occasional vehicle didn't present any noise problems.

It was lovely eating breakfast on the rear patio, which was so peaceful, overlooking the valley and mountains in the distance.

The village of Cruis is just 400m walk and is of particular charm and character. It has a bakers, a small supermarket for those essentials, and a post office. There is a bar and a Restaurant. There are a couple of quality cycles in the garage, which used every day to get my fresh bread from the village.

Many other character villagages and towns are a short drive away.

We thoughrily enjoyed our weeks stay, and the owners are a lovely Irish couple, who live an hour or so away.

Highly recommended.

We're 2 couples, ages around 65, used to stay at vacation villas in France and other European countries. We've stayed 11 nights at Cruis; selection was base on the full privacy of each couple and the excellent facilities and amenety of the house, enabling us to joyfully share them.
We've taken into consideration the longer times for travel to the Provence villages we've planned to visit and coming back to a serene house and neighborhood at the outskirts of Cruis.
Arriving late - 23:00 - we've been welcomed both by Roy as well as by the lovely food package to facilitate our first morning!
We highly recommend the house and location!

Owners very friendly and helpful,their house is lovely,everything you need,home from home.The grocery pack they left for us on arrival,was very welcome.The surrounding area is beautiful,and we had some lovely days sightseeing,Saignon a little village near Apt,is worth a visit.Do not miss the gorge de Verdun,fantastic.The vaiw from the patio is amazing.All in all a very beautiful place to stay,would recommend.
