There is a new sculpure garden in the woods with hammocks. The villa is approached by a private drive with automatic electronic gates. Privacy and seclusion is assured with no children under 15 allowed unless whole villa booked. Yet Villa La Pinede is only a 2 minute walk to the High Street of Maussanne with its village square, ancient church and many open-air restaurants and cafés. Access to snooker-room and gym area with table-tennis and boules pitch available.

The large guest living area has a 42 inch Plasma screenTV with UK satellite plus DVD player and Hi-fi system and access to a lDVD library of over 500 titles. All bedrooms have their own satellite TV and DVD player, and are themed- Picasso, Gauguin, Dali, Van Gogh and Mabula with a feel of South Africa . Guests also have access to the snooker room and mini-gym with music system. Pool-side bar plus well-stocked mini-bar.To reserve the whole of this staffed villa, you need to just book 8 adult catered places- 9 in July and August. The villa can accommodate up to 14 guests. Laundry service available and complimentary for weekly catered guests.

Notes to the rental rates

• Rates are for 9 guests in July and August and 8 guests for rest of year on a catered basis with daily breakfast and evening dinners and sevices as described on previous pages. Please send details of your group and requirements and we can quote accordingly. Shorter stays possible with smaller and larger groups. B&B and all-inclusive available. Rates include use of kitchen in the Picasso room.
  
• Payments can be taken over the phone by credit card in Euros. Deposit of 1000 Euros to confirm booking with balance due 8 weeks before arrival.
  
• Pool heating and daily maintenance by staff. Daily house-keeping.

Wine tours

We will be happy to take guests on wine-tours to visit some of the hundreds of vine-yards in the region. Routes include Les Baux de Provence- nearest is St Berthe- a few minutes drive away, Aix de Provence- again nearest only 15 minutes, Chateau Neuf du Pape- 45 minutes away but you will be able to sample some of the finest wines in the world, Costieres de Nimes, Faugeres and St Chinian, to name but a few. 2 weeks is not long enough to visit all of the vine-yards, and your liver will probably give way first! We will do the driving so you can fully enjoy yourself. We have spent years of hard, dedicated research to find the best vine-yards to visit and wines to taste - a very hard job, but someone has to do it. We can even arrange child-care at the villa, with a local English lady, but only with groups reserving the whole villa.

Art and sculpture and Roman History

Why not combine your stay at Villa La Pinede with some painting, sculpture or pottery classes at a nearby art-studio. The studio is a charity foundation and allows full use of all facilities on payment of just 50€ for annual membership. There is even a heated pool to allow relaxation and inspiration during your painting. The area is full of well-preserved Roman remains including amphitheatres at nearby Arles, Nimes and Orange with the ancient city of Glanum a few minutes drive away- the 3rd largest Roman site in the world.

La Pinede swimming pool and other sports nearby

The 14x5 metre solar-heated pool has a Californian beach entry, so no awkward steps or ladders to negotiate. There is an electric pool cover providing total security of the pool when not in use. We have an automatic salt system for purification, so no nasty chlorine irritated eyes! Pool temperature usually 25 deg C plus from April reaching 30 deg C+ until end of October. Maussane has its own golf-course 2 minutes drive from the villa with another ar Mouries just 10 minutes away. Plenty of cycling and walking routes in the Alpilles- soon to be made into a National park.
