Situated in the heart of the village of Maussane les Alpilles, 2km from Les Baux de Provence and 9 kms from Saint Rémy de Provence, a beautifully restored village house. The traditional Provencal style has been maintained whilst creating a modern and open feel to this lovely old building. There is a lot of room in this house with four good sized bedrooms, lots of living space and plenty of outdoor garden to both the front and rear. The beauty of this property is that it has a central village location, enabling easy access to shops, bars and restaurants, without being in a large town. It has its own private swimming pool at the rear of the house.

  • The four bedrooms provide plenty of space, and are equipped with comfortable beds. There is one twin room and a double room, as well as a smaller single room, containing a larger single bed. Finally, there’s a triple room, with a double bed and single bed, which is arranged as a suite, with a dressing room and a bathroom that contains a full-size bath and WC.

Notes: The living area is centred around a stone fireplace, and contains two sofas, a TV, DVD player, stereo system and even a stocked bookshelf, (French language books!), as well as dining facilities. Like the rest of the property, the décor has a light, traditional, feel to it. There is a separate well-equipped kitchen, which contains an oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. This property has its own storeroom, providing valuable extra space to store those suitcases when you arrive! The house has a garden/terrace on its north and south side, 200 sq metres and 120 sq metres respectively, pergola on the north side and private parking. There is also plenty of furniture in the gardens, (including a BBQ!), for eating outside on those lovely warm Provençal evenings! In June 2006, a new swimming pool was installed, so you can take a quick dip in the privacy of your won garden. A cot and high chair is available on request, so please let us know what you need.

The village and surrounds: Maussane les Alpilles is a village well serviced with bakers, butchers, grocers, bank and a post office. There is a weekly market, cafes, bars and restaurants, all of which are within walking distance of this house. It's also a great location for touring and leisure; there is a golf course just on the doorstep of the village, as are the cycling, walking and horse riding paths across the beautiful Alpilles. Maussane is also situated in the heart of one of the best the Olive growing regions of Provence - a panorama of Olive Groves with stunning limestone scenery as the backdrop surrounds the village. Just 15Km away you can visit St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture and Les Beaux, with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, is just up the road.

The region: Slightly further afield are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence. For the nature lover there is the Camargue including an ornithological park.
