Nestling in the countryside between two villages near Saint Cyprien, Benac, Le Bugue and Sarlat, this lovely restored stone house has a large lounge with exposed stonework and beams, an open fireplace and chestnut parquet with rugs. There are 2 couches, a television, a video-DVD player and music centre. There is a dining area and fully equipped American kitchen with oven, dishwasher, microwave and 2 fridges. The lounge and kitchen lead onto a leafy terraced eating area overlooking the valley and swimming pool surrounded by large stone terraces the rest laid to lawn. There is a bedroom with double bed and shower room and toilet on this level. There are three other bedrooms and a bathroom on the floor below: two twin bedrooms and one with double four-poster bed. Two bedrooms have French windows opening onto the garden and bread oven. There is a utility room on an intermediary level providing central heating, washing machine, deep freeze. Tennis table garden chairs and BBQ provided.

Ideally situated for exploring the sites of the Perigord, just 2 kilometres from the river with a beach with fishing and near the charming village of Limeuil where there is a large beach at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Vezere. You can hire boats upstream and float down, water ski at the cingle de Trémolat, visit the markets of Le Bugue and Saint Cyprien, the caves of Les Eyzies and Lascaux, the medieval castles of Benac and Castelnaud. A 40 minute drive will take you to the medieval towns of Sarlat, or Bergerac. At night, enjoy the many gourmet restaurants or more informally, the marchés nocturnes in villages like Cadouin, Paunat, St Chamassy,where you can have duck fillets cooked before you and savour them with a glass of wine and dance to live music under the covered marketplace. Explore the cloisters of Cadouin and Monpazier, troglodyte caves, prehistory museums. Enjoy the son et lumière show and air show or theatre (English) in Belvès or French theatre in Sarlat.

This is the most wonderful house set in a beautiful garden. In a peaceful setting with views over the surrounding countryside. Conveniently located for sightseeing. We had a fantastic holiday and hope to stay here again in the future.

What a great 2 weeks we had at La Scourbet. The house is lovely and very well appointed. Grounds are beautiful with so many nice plants & shrubs. We saw at least one deer every day. There are many places to visit & several good restaurants too. House is very private and hidden away and yet so close to all the amenities. Owners were very helpful and there was lots of information in the house as to what to do etc. Weather was really good for the whole 2 weeks. Will certainly recommend to friends.
