A fabulous week in a stunning area

I have just returned from a fabulous week at ‘La Boiseraie’. When I first saw it on the internet, I really liked the look of it; wooden beams and floors, exposed brickwork and it more than lived up to my expectations. The gite is in a nice quiet area but still just a few minutes from the medieval town of Sarlat-le-Caneda, so here it’s the best of both worlds.
I’d chosen the area specifically as I like to do a lot of sightseeing on my holidays, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed – chateaux, caves, prehistoric sites, beautiful gardens, pretty riverside villages and medieval castles, all within easy driving distance. In fact, the only problem was what I was going to miss out as I only had a week! This problem was further complicated by the excellent recommendations of our host, David, with yet more places to add to the itinerary. It’s lucky the gite was so comfortable as I certainly needed a bit of R&R each evening.
I’d forgotten to ask at the time of booking about any outside space as this is something I am used to at home and would really miss on holiday, but I was delighted to find a nice big terrace overlooking the garden.
Thanks again David for your warm welcome, good local knowledge and excellent barbecue skills that really helped me get the most from a wonderful week in this stunning area.
A bientot!
