Tremolat holiday house: Tremolat

The house was very good, the village is fantastic and the web site description was accurate. Families with small children should know that the appartment at the front of the house which we used is separated from the garden at the side of the house, and accessed across the parking area which is not fenced off from the road. The other two appartments are safe and more practical for kids.
Clean, reasonably well equiped kitchen, hard beds (if you like that sort of thing), poor quality pillows, and well equiped living area. Two showers (curtain in ground floor shower is not long enough and water drains across the entire floor of the room).
Pool could be cleaner and gardens could be tidier but this is a minor point and didn't detract from a very practical and pleasant facility. There are no curtains at the windows - except for small cotton drapes. Don't forget to close the shutters to keep the sunlight out! (We did)
Owner showed her face a couple of times and clearly takes care of the property.
Village is beautiful, quiet and close to the river. A range of restaurants from v.v.expensive top of the class, through mid range real French restaurant, through smart Pizzaria with live music, to run of the mill cheap and cheerful. Local grocers has everything you need to buy, including English papers. Nothing tacky about any of them. Pete, who runs the riverside boating activities is helpful, good value and knows the area well. He's native English but a long standing resident of Tremolat. Ask him about the restaurant up the hill on the right on the way out of the village on the Cirque de Tremolat. A typical old fashioned French restaurant - very good value meals, properly served, bags of time, lots of nice touches and full of locals, not tourists.
We'd recommend this house to anyone and feel it's value for money and a property full of character in a lovely community.
