Enjoy the surrounding countryside and experience the numerous chateaux of this province. The house stands in its own 3 acres of grounds, mostly laid to lawn with a surrounding stream and mushroom woods to the rear. All your family requirements are catered for within this property to make a memorable holiday. Only a few minutes walk from the picturesque village of St Martin de Gurson with local bar/restaurant, bakery and church. Within a few minutes drive there are many attractions such as the Lac de Gurson, a large lake with restaurants and beach, the local vineyard La Grappe de Gurson, with many wonderful wines to experience and the numerous villages and towns along the beautiful Dorgdogne valley.

The property is located within the Dordogne area, a few kilometres from the picturesque village of St Foy La Grande on the Dordogne river. It is also within 25 minute drive of the historic town of Bergerac which is in the heart of the Dordogne and is serviced by an airport with excellent links to the UK (Ryan Air & Flybe). It is also only 50 minutes from the beautiful and exciting city of Bordeaux again providing excellent air links worldwide and numerous other opportunities. The immediate local area offers a quaint typically French of St Martin De Gurson with a ancient church, small shops and of course a pub. The next village of Gurson has the local vineyard with excellent wines which are inexpensive. Only 4 Km's from the property is the Lac De Gurson which is a huge lake complex with slides and resturants offering surperb family activities and sandy beaches. The out lieing towns and villages are historic and picturesque worth exploring for their markets and wines which abound.

Our 2 week holiday at Maison Lavande

Stayed at Maison Lavande for 2 weeks. After long drive, was rewarded at 8.30pm with temperatures of 26 degrees, clear blue skies and a lovely house surrounded by sunflower fields. Sun continued to shine for the next 2 weeks. Pool was lovely even though the 4 children we had with us looked like prunes by the end of the holiday. House needed a bit of TLC but we didn't spend much time in there.
The caretaker who lives locally gave us loads of tips of where to go. We loved the local night markets in the villages - cheap way of eating out. France is not cheap at the moment.
The house is on a very quiet road and the neighbours are not close so it really felt that you could relax and the kids could make as much noise as they wanted. Would recommend to anyone.

Had a great break at Maison Lavande at Easter in the Dordogne, weather was not great but the villa was top class with the pool to enjoy when the sun was shining or reading a book by the fire when it was raining.
It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors with the family in the large garden and with the extensive (peaceful) walks in the area especially the dander to the very friendly pub in the local village St Martin –de –Gurson.
The villa has everything provided for and with lots of room even with a large party it was truly a very relaxing break looking forward to next year!!

Deffinately book your spot quick as the houses rental weeks sell like hot cakes!

Absoulutely Fantastic..!!

I stayed at Maison Lavande for a week in March over the St.Patricks week.
This house is beautiful, a traditonal french maison with a massive amount of land around it. The house has lovely features inside and out. The pool is great and so easy to cover takes no more than a couple of minutes. There is a master bedroom and 3 other bedrooms that are very spacious, light and fresh. Out of the master bedroom is a huge, wooden balcony which is great to sit back with a wee drink and watch the sunset. A 10 minute run or cycle takes you into the village and a 15 minute walk, in the village is a very friendly pub and on a sunday they serve up a lovely roast. Also in the village is a small corner-shop with your daily needs and a open tennis court.
The house is great for children with so much adventuring for them to do and have a little play in the small stream on the property. A 30/40 minute drive to Bordeaux and Bergerac deffinately a trip to make as both towns are beautiful fun and very friendly. I'd deffinately give this property a 9.5 out of 10.
Thanks for a great stay.. family enjoyed it and we have booked a fortnight in July!

Great Easter get away

Spent a wonderful Easter at this property. The weather was surprisingly good for the time of year allowing us to enjoy the spacious gardens and especially the beautiful pool. Ideal location to explore the Dordogne and the local village of St Martin was quaint. I am sure it would be even better in the summer.
