Near the Golf of Château des Vigiers, close to the castle of MONBAZILLAC, ”Les Grands Chênes” is an 8 acres property, just 10 minutes south of BERGERAC and its airport (daily low cost flights from UK, Belgium or Holland). The attractive large house with its private heated swimming pool, spa and sauna is at the end of a private lane edged with ancient oaks and overlooks a magnificent landscape of woods, meadows, lake and vineyards. “Les Grands Chênes” is suitable for family gatherings, anniversaries, wine tasting parties, good friends wanting to have fun, etc. It can accommodate up to 25 people: 12 bedrooms (some with en-suite bathrooms and terrace), 10 bathrooms or shower-rooms, 10 WC. This luxury villa, decorated with solid, comfortable furniture is occupied all the year. It is the main residence of its owners who live in when it is not rented. During their stay, our guests are alone on the property and take advantage of the villa, the garden, the surroundings and all the amenities

  • Additional price information: Arriving after 4 pm and departing before 10 am; supply of linen and house towels; cleaning included at the end of the stay + 3 hours of maintenance during the week; heating included (the property has central heating); A deposit of 25% is required at time of booking. Balance due 8 weeks before arrival, also a damage deposit of 15% of the global renting amount. This will be returned at the departure, if property is left in good order.
  • Except in July and August, a particular quotation will be considered for every enquiry concerning the main part of the house ( 8 bedrooms, 17 people maximum). The group resides alone in the property.

Notes: This luxury Villa, in a gorgeous environment, has its living quarters disposed on a single floor, and comprises: a) a main living accommodation: fully equipped kitchen 25m² (an adjoining laundry room provides washing and drying facilities), a nice dining room 45m² with oak tables & chairs, a large and pleasant living room 47m² with fire place, a billiard room 45m² with bar, 8 large bedrooms, with top quality bedding, some with king/queen size bed, en-suite bathroom and private terrace, 4 shower-rooms, 1 bathroom, 5 WC. b) 4 independent bedrooms with en-suite bathroom or shower and WC. These last four large bedrooms at the end of the house facing the heated pool, have their own entries leading out onto a pleasant patio. They are all fitted with top quality bedding and queen or king size beds. 2 of them have a fully fitted kitchen area and can communicate with the other bedrooms if so desired. All the house's rooms are well decorated and furnished. Most have high, beamed, ceilings.

Relax in the Dordogne

This is the 4th year in a row that we have rented "Les Grands Chenes", a beautiful country house in the Dordogne region of southern France. The photos on the website don't do this house and the surrounding area justice. The views from the house are wonderful, vineyards and gentle rolling hills. We also love how incredibly quiet it is. There is a good-sized swimming pool and also a jacuzzi and sauna which we use regularly.

The owners are amazing. They live close by so if anything ever breaks or you can't find something, they come immediately to sort it out for you. They are incredibly warm and hospitable.

The house itself is great because it has so many bedrooms that have ensuite baths. Many houses this size have a lots of bedrooms but only a handful of bathrooms, whereas "Les Grands chenes" has a bathroom in almost every room. The kitchen is large and has everything you need.

The other great thing about the house is that there are so many different outdoor sitting areas. Other large country houses that we have rented in the past, don't have this many different areas to sit and hang out outside. Some shaded, some in the sunshine, it's perfect! And the gardens are simply amazing!

I highly recommend "Les Grands chenes". We've been going there for 4 years now, and we will continue to go back every year. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area, Bergerac is a great town and we love the local market full of great fresh produce and lovely local vendors!

Fantastic holiday!

We've spent this summer one week in this great and I'm very pleased to conclude that it's even better than the pictures. We've spent a dream vacation in Bergerac with a large group. The property is clean and luxurious, the view is amazing and the facilities are unbelievable. We are already planning our next year holidays to this property again!

Great place to stay for vacation

The Villa is very comfortable. There are many things available for children and also for older ones... Anyone can have its independence, be alone for a while... there is so much space! We have been staying there for 1 week for now 4 or 5 years, and it's difficult to find a propertie as noce to stay at!
Owner's Response: We constantly set our heart on offering to our hosts the best quality-price ratio as regards comfort of lodging in order to be pleased to see them returning. The periods of peak season of course are very required but May, April, June, October September are also very pleasant in the Dordogne.

a beautiful holiday in the Perigor

We had a wondefull time in this house. It is very large, well equiped. We were there for the past 3 years with 4 families. The house, poolhouse and pool was always very tidy, and the garden is extremely relaxing. The view is overwhelming, and with a riding school next door our horse-hobby is also met. So we keep a lot of very good memories about our holidays.
Owner's Response: The proximity of the riding school is an advantage used by many of our guests, adults and children. It is a great pleasure to ride in the open country surrounding the property.

Fantastic place for a large group!

Just returned from a great week at Les Grands Chenes - 19 people, 10 adults, 9 kids aged between 18 months and 6 years - what a find- the location, the house, the facilities all fantastic - the website does not do the house justice - it is huge!

Owners were fabulous - providing informatio in person on how everything worked, from the kitchen equipment through to the hot tub and pool alarm and ensured everything ran smoothly for us all week

Would thoroughly recommend this place and hope to return
