Local Area

-St Foy le Grande which has many shops bars and restaurants and a large Saturday market ( 8 kms) -Bergerac is within a 10 kms and has shops cafes, restaurants, markets and many other tourist attractions, such as museums, and boat trips. - Eymet, during July and August boasts a very popular night market recently featured on the channel 4 series ‘No going back’. Further along the Dordogne river, are the world famous caves of Les Eyzes, historic villages of Roque Gageac, Baynac and Domme. -Chateau Monbazziac, is within 15 kms of the property and is the home of the world renowned Monbazziac wine. The cottage is situated on the Dordogne river within easy reach of the wines and vineyards of this area.

Fly Or Drive

River Viewr is within easy reach of two airports, Bordeaux, approx 1 hours drive is a large airport served by the main airlines BA, Air France and the budget airlines BMI Baby (Birmingham, Manchester) and Flybe (Norwich, Southampton, Bristol). The second airport is BERGERAC only 15 min drive and it is served by the budget airlines of Ryanair (Stansted, Liverpool, East midlands) and FlyBe (Leeds Bradford, Southampton, Bristol, Exeter). Car hire can be organised for you through a local car hire company at Bergerac airport and if necessary (i.e. late flight arrivals) a meet and greet service can be organised from Bergerac airport to Chez Maison full details are available on request. Chateau Des Vigiers, - 8kms, An 18 hole par 72 course set in the vineyards of Bergerac. Two Restaurants and luxury health suit, a challenge for any golfer. many other golf courses in the surrounding area e mail for more information. Fishing on wide river with shallow gravel runs and deep pools. Gin clear water offering mixed fishing including trout, sea trout and salmon (in season) but all coarse fish including chubb, barbel occasional carp and catfish. Fly fishing techniques suitable but also standard float and ledger methods work as well. Licences available locally.
