250 year old stone built, heavily beamed farmhouse, situated in a peaceful rural setting on the edge of a small hamlet, but close to all amenities and the Dordogne valley. Bergerac airport is just a quick 15 minute drive away. The cottage sleeps 8 comfortably, has 3 bath/shower rooms and its own 11m x 5m private swimming pool. The cottage is cool in summer and has full oil fired central heating and a wood burner in the kitchen for the winter. It is surrounded by vineyards and benefits from extensive open views from both the terrace and poolside patio. We have owned the house for over 22 years and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The nearest village for shopping is Sigoules which is just 3km away. There are many sporting facilities near the house. Swimming in the pool, a swimming lake in Sigoules with a beach area. Horse riding with quality horses 5 minutes away. Tennis on all weather courts, canoeing on the Dordogne & Vezere rivers, fishing in the rivers and in lakes, permits required & readily available. Walking and cycling with well marked routes. All these activities within a few minutes drive from the house. Golf, 2 different 18 hole courses within a 40 minute drive. There are typical French street markets every day in different neighbouring towns. The region is famous for its food and there are restaurants to suite every taste and pocket. Bergerac wine is a famous appellation and Red, white & sparkling wines are everywhere. Finally, visit the Dordogne valley with its spectacular scenery, Bastide towns, Castles & Chateaux. In Sigoules, 3 km away, you will find all your everyday needs, boulangerie, supermarket, newsagents, charcuterie, boucherie, pharmacy are available.

  • All the bathrooms are fully tiled and recently upgraded. Hot water is constantly available being heated on demand by the central heating system. The property is served by 2 separate septic tanks.

  • 2 Bedroom’s are on the ground floor and the other 2 bedrooms are on the first floor, one is a mezzanine room that you walk through to get to third private bedroom. The twin beds in the 3rd bedroom can be altered to make an Extra L double bed if required. The house sleeps 8 adults in the 4 double bedrooms, The large room upstairs could accommodate 2 more children sleeping in the same bedroom as their parents. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the down stairs shower room is shared. Duvets are provided for cooler periods for all the beds, all the rooms are equipped with ample storage space in wardrobes and drawer units. The floors downstairs are tiled throughout and upstairs the floors are wooden.

Notes: There is a large covered terrace which adjoins the south side of the house house with a built in BBQ. There is a large table and chairs for eating lunch in the shade or enjoying an evening meal outside. Extensive paving surrounds the 11m x 5m pool giving ample space for further outside dining at the table by the pool during the cool of the evening. The view of the surrounding countryside and vineyards is quite spectacular from the pool patio and the area is equipped with lighting. Grassed areas for games are available at the front, side and rear of the house. The garden has a selection of fruit trees,and a variety of herbs for you to use. Ample space for off road parking of a number of vehicles is available on the driveway.

Kitchen: The large living kitchen was refurbished in 2004 providing extensive workspace and storage space. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with more than ample crockery, glasses and cutlery. There is a double electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and a high chair for toddler. The table will easily seat 8/10 should you want to eat inside. During the low season a woodburner can be lit and this brings the room alive on a cool evening. The room is fully tiled and remains refreshingly cool in the summer.

Sitting Room: This room is for those who want to retire to a quiet comfortable space. The room is equipped with a large settee (very comfortable to stretch out on) 2 further armchairs and a rocking chair. The TV is connected via a satellite dish to all BBC & ITV channels both radio and TV. A DVD player and a VHS player are also connected to the television. An extensive selection of books are available in this room for you to choose from. The room is fully tiled and remains cool during the hot summer months. A french door leads out onto the drive and the room benefits from the setting sun in the evening.

Swimming Pool: The 11 x 5m pool is in full sun all day and the temperature of the water can easily rise to 32c when the weather is hot. The pool is for your exclusive use and a pool attendant calls to carry out pool maintenance. The pool cover meets the french law on pool security and it is guests responsibility to keep the cover in place when the pool is not in use to ensure the safety of their children. The pool has a backdrop of shrubs and benefits from extensive surrounding panoramic views. The house and pool are set on top of a hill giving uninterrupted views in 3 directions. There are lights in the pool for night bathing.

Peaceful, spacious holiday home with fabulous view

This is a traditional rustic French holiday home that will easily accommodate two families. It is really well furnished and spacious inside and out. The pool is in a lovely situation overlooking the vineyards and large garden that accommodated lots of games for our four young boys. Only 15 mins from Bergerac airport with a plethora of acitivites should there be a need to escape the hamlet. Plenty of Chateau's nearby to taste local wine and Bergerac is a beautiful town with lots of character. We were happy by the pool most days but there are a multitude of Caves, Parcs and interesting Bastide's to visit.

We had a fantastic holiday, the weather was good (30 degrees on average) and the hospitality of the locals always present. We drove (approx 9 hours from Calais) and it was necessary to have a car in the area, other family members flew in and out of Bergerac airport which was a very easy drive.

The owners were always on hand to answer questions and always extremely pleasent to deal with.

Perfect holiday location

We have stayed in Jeramie Spring, Summer and Autumn and can recommend it at all these times. During the Summer the house offers relaxation around the pool and a wonderful terrace with built in bbq to cook the local food bought from the many surrounding markets. In Autumn and Spring the cosy living areas with the log burner make it ideal for chilling out and is the ultimate relaxation experience. The location is ideal to explore the Dordogne with Sarlat and Domme must see destinations. Issegac Market on Sunday is not to be missed with delicious food and wine on offer. Ideal for families and couples the house offers comfort and is home from home with all you need to make life easy, washng machine, dishwasher and modern well equiped bathrooms. A Great Cottage that will give you a fantastic holiday and the reason we return yearly.

The house is in a perfect location, in a small rural hamlet surrounded by vines and stunning views. A really comfortable and homely house, with a big pool and lovely poolside terrace for sunbathing, lunch or aperitifs before dinner. Built in BBQ just outside the front door, covered by the roof overhang making it perfect for a lunch in the shade or dinner outside in the evening. Lots of places to go and see, just a short drive from the house, if you can drag yourself away from the pure relaxation of the house and pool!

Perfect 'get-away-from-it-all' holiday

We've just returned from a long stay in Jeramie (3 months) and would happily recommend this beautiful rural home. The house has everything you could possibly need. The location is tranquil, with beautiful views and wooded walks straight from the door. A car is essential for shopping and sight-seeing but the driving is easy and the roads very quiet. Foodies must try L'Ancienne Gare at Issegeac. Excellent!
