Immaculate and beautifully refurbished 1 bedroom cottage, set in 17 acres, it has its own kitchen, sitting room, dining area, separate bathroom / toilet, and very pretty bedroom. Downstairs, La Jolie Maison comprises a sunny kitchen (brand new and fully equipped) with wood burning stove, bright sitting room with TV (UK and French channels) and DVD, warm and again brand new fully tiled bathroom and separate toilet. Upstairs is a very pretty bedroom with stunning views. The bedroom is already made up with full bed linen and towels. Towels are also provided for the kitchen - we aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Outside is a bbq area, table and chairs, and relaxing chairs, to take full advantage of the south facing view. It offers an ideal base for short breaks - whether holidaying in the area or house buying. The owners, who are English, live nearby, and can give lots of advice on 'things to do', or 'purchasing property in France'!

'La Jolie Maison' is a beautiful 1 bedroom cottage, part of 'Le Domaine des Amis', a lovely ancient farmhouse property, built in golden Aquitaine stone and is set in 17 acres of pastureland. It is available for rental Sept to June. Just 3 kilometers north of Bergerac, it provides an oasis of calm and tranquility; a small piece of paradise where the surrounding gastronomic, historical and scenic delights of the Perigord region can be enjoyed to the full! The cottage has been refurbished and equipped to a high standard & includes dishwasher, microwave, cooker, coffee maker, kettle, fridge/freezer, DVD/CD player and satellite TV (including UK Channels) - a fantastic self-catering environment. A cot is available at no extra charge. It has electric radiators in all rooms, to ensure comfortable year round use, and there is also a wood burning stove, for cozy evenings by the fire. Outside the cottage are tables, chairs and a BBQ, for those on terrace lunches and dinners in the sun.

La Jolie Maison is part of a wonderful ancient farmhouse property, built in golden Aquitaine stone. It is situated in the heart of the Dordogne, one of the most gorgeous regions of France, and is just 10 minutes from the lovely riverside town of Bergerac, with its picturesque ancient buildings and old port, and excellent selection of cafes and restaurants. The Dordogne is famous for its beautiful fairy-tale chateaux, magnificent fortresses and medieval towns, as well as the superb vineyards of Pecharmant, Montbazillac and Saussignac, which offer tastings and tours. The Dordogne is also a gastronomic paradise - our restaurants (50 alone around Bergerac!) range from auberges (wholesome farmhouse cooking reigns supreme) to chic restaurants (delicious five star food and beautiful service accompanied by reasonable prices). And don't forget the markets - one of the greatest pleasures of a French holiday, and ours are no exception - offering hours of hedonistic enjoyment.

Looking to Buy a House?: If you are coming over to the Dordogne looking to buy a house or land, then please do quiz us (preferably over an aperitif!). We have already bought 2 properties in the last 2 years, and are renovating them both, so we know a fair bit about the buying process, and the renovating process. We were also registered Artisans with the Chamber of Commerce for Interior and Exterior Property Restoration, and Garden and Pool Maintenance - so again, we are a mine of information that we would willingly pass on to anyone staying with us.

Coming to Bergerac for the First Time?: We have been coming to the Dordogne for holidays for over 10 years now, and have lived in Bergerac for 5 years. So, if you are looking for an itinerary for your holiday, if you don't know what we have to offer in this gorgeous part of France, then please just ask us, and we will happily help you with choices of things to do, places to see and restaurants to eat at!

Golf: There are a number of golf courses nearby - some 9 hole, some 18 hole - all available to non-club members. These include Chateau des Vigiers, Chateau les Merles, Villeneuve Golf Course - just ask us if you need more information!

bits and pieces. We just wanted to thank you for a lovely stay at your cottage at Le Domaine des Amis and to thank you very much for your hospitality, thoughtfulness and support over the few days. We really appreciated it. We had a wonderful time touring beautiful countryside and villages and drinking great wine and eating

Signs to property could of been clearer from road.

We would like to thank Sally and Lawrence for the great 6 week holiday. We enjoyed the area that much that we bought a property in a nearby village and now count Sally and Lawrence as good friends. They were such a great help explaining how things are done when buying in France. The cottage was great and as it was early spring the log burner was wonderful.
Sally and Lawrence entertained us in their home and introduced us to some of their friends and family as well as giving us loads of information on the area.
Thank you once again hope to see you in April 2009 when we can't wait to introduce you both to our friends.

The house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable with all the facilities you need for a self-catering holiday.
The owners, Sally and Lawrence, are two of the nicest people we have met in France and now consider them to be our friends.
We would recomment this property for a quiet, romantic getaway or for a base when sightseeing around the area.
We have stayed at 'La Jolie Maison' on 2 occasions and enjoyed ourselves so much in and around Bergerac that we have bought our own little piece of France just around the corner.

Wow! what can I say! Totally and utterly wonderful. I never thought I could fall in love with a log burner but I did! Superb countryside and, for an animal lover like me, lots of new friends to stroke! Sally & Lawrence were such a lovely couple - we spent Xmas Eve in their beautiful house drinking wine and eating the most scrumptious food. How lucky we were to have chosen this place and to meet two people who we hope to meet up with again one day. To wake up each morning with fantastic views in the frosty sun was simply stunning.
