The Old Walnut House - surrounded by stunning countryside

This delightful property is situated in the Dordogne, between Limoges and Perigueux. Also near the old market town of St. Yrieix La Perche, which is well know for it's fresh food markets. Just for two, this petite house was used to dry walnuts which where collected from the trees that surrounded the four acre property, in times gone by. The Old Walnut House has a pretty sun room, which boasts lovely view of the surrounding countryside.Furnishings have been recently updated to a higher standard with new leisure furniture.

To while away the hours in the heat of the day, there is a roman pool, leisure furniture and an atmosphere of peace and solitude. For the more adventurous and energetic there are several leisure lakes with sandy beaches, mini golf, miniature railways, and fishing. The nearest is Rouffiac which is only a short distance away from your base. There are many outdoor activities to pursue tennis, swimming, water chutes, boating, para gliding and wall face climbing. Furnishings updated for the coming year.

For more leisurely there are many sights to see and visit. Follow the romantic and exciting trail of Richard the Lion Heart taking you to castles and chateaux in the area, starting from Nexon to Chalus, where the archers arrow finally put pay to his adventures. How about a gentle and meandering river cruise on the river in the old town of Brantome, with its Perigordian cuisine in riverside cafes. St Jean de Cole must be one of the most beautiful villages you will see in this area. Magnificent countryside and rivers are all around with Chateaux to match, the nearest of which is the majestic Hautefort chateau with its commanding views.
