The farm consists of a farm house linked to a wonderful old barn, all built entirely of the local stone and surrounding a completely private, walled courtyard with loggia and pergola supporting an old wisteria. There is an open, stone built garage at the back of the property, with space for 3 cars plus extra parking facilities, all behind fence and gate. It is a large property, beautifully restored using oak, chestnut, cut stone and old fashioned terracotta tiles and with wonderful 6 acres of sloping grounds. The furnishings throughout the complex are of excellent quality in part antique. Sunlight filters into the barn area and the main bedroom through windows in the roof. The whole complex is centrally heated (oil) for winter use, the capacious oil-tank being housed in in the garage. There is a traditional open fireplace in the living room area as well as a romantic wood-burning stove in the kitchen, with plenty of logs.

Le Pré lies 15 minutes car drive south of the local capital, the gorgeous medieval city of Perigueux and 15 minutes from the famous Pécharment wine region. Bergerac is within easy reach, as are Les Eyzies and the Vézère valley. Whether you wish to go canoeing on the Dordogne or visit wonderful places like the famous fortress Beynac, the monastery at Cadouin or Etienne de la Boëtie's home town Sarlat, a short and most enjoyable trip by car will get you there. The landscape is fascinating and the restaurants along the road provide excellent repasts. Being so close to Perigueux gives you any amount of shopping possibilities. The city of Perigueux has a Roman town (Cité Romaine) and a medieval centre built from dressed white stone and housing some of the most exciting restaurants around.

Both rooms have ample storage space in their own chest of drawers and wardrobes. The third main bedroom on the ground floor has 2 single beds and access to a shower room with loo. It contains a wardrobe and chest of drawers, a pull out sofa bed, movable baby cot and play pen. The terracotta flooring and antique pichat lend a special atmosphere to this room. It accesses a a secluded outside terraced area and the main living room in the restored old barn. All bedrooms are centrally heated.
