The stone farmhouse (circa 1832) has a wealth of oak beams, original fire place, exposed stone walls and lots of character. It has its own gardens with BBQ and Wifi. It lies in beautiful surroundings in a small hamlet overlooking the tranquil 12th century village of Calviac-en-Perigord and has spectacular views over the Dordogne valley and the historic Chateau Fenelon. You can take a 5 minute stroll to the village shop for your daily fresh baguette and croissants and La Dordogne river itself is only a 10 minute walk away from the gite. It also has a stunning figure of 8 shape swimming pool (10m x 6m) screened by trees and bushes and is not overlooked, beyond the pool area is a further acre of gardens with young fruit trees and shrubs. You can visit the famous medieval city of Sarlat only a 12Km drive away and other numerous other places of interest close by. There are lots activities and restaurants locally. The area is also a walkers and cyclists paradise with lots of marked trails

The gites are superbly positioned just 15Km from the main A20 Paris/Toulouse motorway and has easy access to various airports serviced by Ryanair, Easyjet, Flybe, BA, Air France and KLM. Exploring is easy, it's only 12 kilometres from medieval Sarlat and less than a half hours drive from other medieval towns and Chateaux such as Rocamadour, Domme, Beynac, Castelnaud and Roque Gagiac. There are many prehistoric sites and caves too, such as Lascaux and Les Eyzies also close by. The local villages of Carlux and St Julien, both have bars, restaurants, shops and post offices only a 5 minute drive away, St Julien having a bank with cash point. There are weekly markets in July and August in Calviac itself, or throughout the year in Sarlat and St Julien. You can cycle with safety on a flat tarmaced dedicated cycle path for 25Km on the old disused railway track between Sarlat and Souillac, bicycles can be hired locally. Tennis and 2 golf courses plus other sports are available nearby.

Notes: The farmhouse is two storey, all bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. The front terrace has a table and 4 chairs, the rear terrace has table with 6 chairs and parasol. The kitchen also has a coffee machine, kettle, toaster and an ironing board and iron are also provided. The swimming pool will be opened for the season from the beginning of May - beginning of October, and is alarmed to meet french safety standards.

Travel: The Gites are situated in the sunny South West of France. If driving, we are conveniently only 15 Km off of the A20 Paris/Toulouse motorway junction 55 at Souillac. For the flyer we are geographically situated in the middle of 3 international airports, just an easy fly/drive away, Bergerac (approx. 65 mins), Limoges (approx. 90mins) and Rodez (approx. 110 mins) or Toulouse (approx 110 mins). Ryanair fly to Bergerac, Limoges or Rodez. Flybe to Bergerac, Limoges or Toulouse. Easyjet to Toulouse. Or the national carriers BA, AirFrance and KLM to Toulouse. You can journey by train from Paris to Brive de Gallarde which is only a 35 min drive away, or you can change to a local train to Sarlat-La-Caneda just 12Km from Calviac-En-Perigord and your accommodation. The choice is yours.

We had a fantastic holiday. Thank you for your kind hospitality. It was lovely to have that contact with you and for your advice and friendship. The Gite was so clean and tidy and very well equiped as we did cater for ourselves most of the time. Great views of the countryside and great seating areas for your glass of wine and a BBQ. The gardens and the swimming pool area was lovely. The village is so close to all the things you want to see and do and Sarlat is beautiful day or night. The meals we had there in the square were great, especially the steaks on the stone, excellent value for money. Thanks for the tip Pete, a great choice. We hope to return soon just the 2 of us for some rest and relaxation, peace and quiet. See you all Soon.

Lovely relaxing stay

We have just returned home after spending a lovely week as guests of Peter and Loren in the larger of their two gites.
There were 4 adults and 2 children in our party and we were very comfortable in the spacious,clean and well appointed accommodation.
The property is situated in the Dordogne valley between Souliac and Sarlat, in a lovely hamlet just below the wooded hills, 1/2 mile from the quaint little village of Calviac. The views from the lounge and main bedroom are beautiful,looking over the village towards the River Dordogne and the hills beyond.
The situation is very quiet yet handy to get to the sites of the area. There is a small general store in the village selling local wine for € 1 a litre, just provide your own bottle. Its coissants and bread in the morning are also outstanding.
The kitchen is large with a hob, oven, fridge freezer and washing machine, although it lacked a dishwasher.
The lounge has a large dining table, CD radio, Sky TV and DVD player.
The 3 bedrooms are lovely and the bathroom is modern with a good pressured shower.
There is a smaller gite next to ours and we were lucky to have a lovely couple staying there. Both gites share the pool which is very clean and a decent size. We were blessed with hot sunny weather for most of the week and made good use of the pool. Beyond the pool area is a field complete with a badminton net. Beside the pool is a box filled with pool equipment, boules, and badminton racquets etc.
Peter and Loren are a lovely couple and could not have been more friendly and helpful. They live in a house beside the gites and take an obvious pride in looking after their guests. On our last evening we all got together for a barbeque, which was a great way to end our stay.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return on our next visit to the Dordogne.

Just spent a week staying at a beautifull place in France.
Done to exceptional standards and spotlessly clean the Gite de tilleul was most welcoming and warming and the settings a delight.
With a superb swimming pool and well kept grounds i would highly recomend this corner of France.
Peter and Loren were gracious hosts and always on hand with friendly advice.
Definentley be back soon.

The Gite Tilleul was simply perfect for us. Quietly situated in an elevated quaint hamlet with amazingly beautiful views across part of the Dordogne valley.The Gite itself was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully appointed and refreshingly cool inside with a delightful area right outside to sit and absorb your surroundings. Everything we needed plus more was provided and with the owners close by nothing was too much trouble for local advice and information. If you want to be out of the crowds but have good access to the plethora of activities on offer in this wonderful region then this wee gite is a total and complete winner.
We hope to return and now, wouldn't consider booking anywhere else as it gave us everything far exceeding our expectation.
