In the heart of the Dordogne, on the edge of the world famous village of Les Eyzies and in a beautiful riverside setting, these charming houses have been lovingly restored preserving the character with the use of oak beams, sandstone walls, wood and tiled floors. The well equipped homes each have all modern comforts including satellite TV together with their own separate terrace complete with BBQ and garden furniture. A pretty river runs through the estate and helps make the extensive grounds at Le Banquet an ideal place for relaxation. The large swimming pool is positioned to gain maximum hours of sunshine with ample shade provided by walnut, apple and pear trees. All are well catered for with a toddler’s splash pool and play area with swings and slide. La Fermette: sleeps 6 in comfort. A pretty Perigordine stone built cottage. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and consists of fully fitted kitchen/dining room , ground floor WC, sitting room with stone fireplace opening on to a walled riverside terrace with a vine clad loggia. The large oak-beamed master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom is on the 2nd floor, whilst the 2 twin bedrooms on the first floor share a bathroom. One twin bedroom has beautiful views overlooking the river. A tranquil riverside setting in which to relax. Does exactly what it says on the tin

It's as good as it looks and is pretty much as described. An ideal base for visiting the Dordogne area.

We stayed in the largest gite which sleeps 6. The group of buildings makes a very picturesque location, all restored to a good standard. Plenty of room inside, you get your own riverside outside dining area, plus access to shared games room, swimming pool. Watch the steep staircase though to the top floor

Easy access to all the best bits of the area; river, caves, chateaux etc. Les Eyzies is walking distance for local stuff.

The owners know the area well - very helpful, friendly, on site but unobtrusive.

10 days at La Fermette

I would very highly recommend La Fermette, having spent a very happy 10 days there with my family of 4. It is in a very beautiful region of France with dozens of stunning towns and villages within easy drive, and fantastic local cuisine and wine. The cottage is spacious and pretty, and right next to the river so that, if you open the windows, you can hear the water gushing past as you sleep. The gardens are beautifully kept and the pool is large enough for adults to have a decent swim in, as well as keeping the kids happy. There is also a small toddler pool on the side, which was much appreciated by our 2-year-old. Rob and Karen were great – very attentive to our needs, approachable, and good company. And the property was very clean. We would certainly consider going back.

having driven down to the dordogne from cheshire over 4 days with wife, 2 kids and mother-in-law I was in need of hassel free perfection.
Karen and Rob seem to have got it just right, creating a welcoming and varied domestic environment and offering help and advice without compromising our privacy.
the layout goes a long way to concealing the fact that there were 2 other families sharing that adjoining accommodation.
the location is ideal, within 1km of les eyzies which was much more active than any of us expected. the vezere river is better than the dordogne for the obligatory canoe trip as it is much quieter and peaceful.
the local restaurants are excellent, even the humble italien on the main street which offered the best pizza bases we had in 3 weeks of travelling.
chateau mazivert is a better experience for wine tasting than the cave du vin on the main street, with friendly locals offering their hard earned experience and advice.
we would most definitely visit le banquette again as the experience and accommodation could not be faulted.

Family Fun at Riverside Cottage

Our little family of Mum, Dad and two young girls (5 and 3) had a blissful two weeks at Le Banquet. Our cottage was spacious and tasetfully decorated, the beds were comfy and the kitched was huge and well set out to cook much of the lovely local produce.

Our kids loved running around in the beautiful gardens and fields surrounding the cottages and the pool and kids playrooms were also much appreciated.

There is plenty to do in the immediate region and the very gracious hosts (Rob and Karen) provide great advice for maximising fun in this picturesque region of France. We went canoing, fishing, exploring local prehistoric caves, tree climbing, lots of eating and some lovely pony rides.

We had a very relaxing time and would highly recommend the cottages to all.
