This beautiful, 2 bedroom, Dordogne stone house. 12miles from Brantome, shares a pretty fountain courtyard and pool with the owners own cottage and has its own private garden. The house lies on a quiet lane in the small hamlet of Rozet = a conservation area with a 12th century priory and surrounded by National Forest. Restaurant easy walk. The 10 x 5 metre in ground swimming pool is ideal for families.. On the ground floor, the tiled hall leads to a large living, dining room with modern kitchen area. There is comfortable seating with satellite television round a traditional fireplace with wood burner. The kitchen area has gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and is fully equipped. Large dining table and chairs for up to 8 people. This room leads to patio area and garden, with access to the pool . There is a large triple bedroom on the first floor, with double and one child bed and shower room is adjacent. Second floor is a lovely loft bedroom with double bed and two singles

Rozet is a small hamlet, some 20 miles from Angouleme, (New airport and service from Stanstead commenced April 2008) and 12 miles from the picturesque river town of Brantome. In the heart of beautiful forested countryside of the Perigord Vert this is a peaceful area with rivers and lakes for canoeing, boating and fishing. In the local villages there are markets to meander in and outdoor cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. Angouleme, capital of the Charente area is good for shopping, hypermarkets. Cognac is not far and there are several brandy houses to visit there. A little further south are the prehistoric caves of the Dordogne and the wine areas of Bergerac and Bordeaux. St. Emilion is a pretty hillside town to visit, and also home of one of the most famous red wines of the area. For walkers, the local tourist offices have maps of the many signed walks and rambles through the lovely countryside. The area is peaceful rural France at its best

Two glorious weeks here, mostly hot and sunny. Cottage had everything we needed. Pat and Norman are the perfect hosts. Favourite things: The swimming pool, of course, canoeing 8km to Brantome - fabulous and not expensive. Nontron, built on cliff, interesting to walk. Angouleme - tour des remparts - great views. Perigueux - Saturday market, La Bugue - pottery foire. Aubeterre - swimming in river and monolithic church a must. Romanesque church in Rozet worth a visit. Enjoyed two local walks, strongly advise taking a compass! Telescope is fantastic for looking at the moon, able to identify seas and craters. This has been one of the best holidays we have every had for both adults and children.

Had a really lovely break in this very French cottage, the pool was beautiful and the views incredible.
Norman and Pat were a lovely couple and couldn't have been more helpful.
Brantome is a beautiful town about 25km away which we all really enjoyed.
If you want a relaxing break away from it all then this is the place to go.
Would definitely reccomend this to friends and family.
Those sunflowers........
