Sigoules holiday cottage: Sigoules

My husband and myself have rented this property twice now; sadly because we have to take holidays at short notice we probably will never manage it again; the house is booked from year to year and all year round! The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you could possible want - more kitchen equipment than I have at home, 3 or 4 times larger kitchen, beautifully comfortable sitting room, DVD library, book library, large satellite TV. Both our visits have been in winter - once at New Year when the area was sparkling with frost, the other at an unseasonably wet Easter. The house is warm and cosy; we are only sad we have not yet tried out the beautiful pool and poolside lounging. The bedrooms are bright, airy and well equipped; the two bathrooms are equally well equipped with a washing machine in one, which is very practical. The linens were spotless and as good, if not better, than ours at home. I cannot think of even one tiny negative to this rental; the guest book says it all, with people returning year after year - the owners hardly get the opportunity to visit. The property is on the outskirts of Sigoule, an amazingly well-equipped village, shops, 2 hairdressers, the wine co-operative and a friendly bar.....the bakers and the newly opened Shopi have come to an agreement; the Shopi buys the bakers' bread products and sells them - where would that happen in England? We heartily recommend the house and the area - full of attractive villages and bastide towns, near the Monbazillac chateau, Bergerac (airport and station) and the owners left full instructions for every single piece of equipment for the untechnical (like us).
