Les Banigots is set in an elevated position 3 minutes drive from the village of Borreze, 7 miles from Souillac and the Dordogne River. The small market town of Salignac lies 4 miles north. There are many retained internal features including oak beams and huge stone fireplaces.

Property
Les Banigots is very much a family home, used extensively by all members. The ambiance reflects this, while the furniture and artifacts are robust enough to resist attacks from small children. The house is light & airy, with French windows onto the enclosed courtyard and a walled terrace giving extensive views down the Borreze valley. Access is through an arched gateway, datestone 1726, into a large courtyard surrounded by its own buildings and walls providing total privacy.
Surrounding area.
Les Banigots is very well positioned to explore all the well known sites of the Middle Dordogne. Such as Rocamadour, Beynac, Sarlat, Domme and the famous cave paintings of Lascaux. There is tennis in Borreze village and a very good local golf club. Canoeing on the Dordogne and other water sports at the lake near Larche, 20 km to the North. If this sounds rather energetic, stock up with wine & food, close the gates & relax by the pool.
History
Les Banigots is an ancient settlement once part on the holdings of the Viscomptes de Turenne. In the centre of the courtyard is a Lime tree planted to commemorate the inception of the 4th Republic in 1848.
Golf Information:
Souillac Country Club with it's 9 hole golf course is 10 mins drive away. There is a good restaurant and bar as well as a swimming pool for non playing guests.
