Paradise of Gastronomy, Culture and Nature:
La Chaise is very close to many places of historic or gastronomic interest. Thre are many prehistoric and medieval castles to visit. We can guide you to some of the lesser known, less visited sites. Each local town has its own market day and almost all have competent restaurant, some have very good ones. Look for the comments in our visitors' book, your best guide to what people really enjoy. As the Dordogne is still largely unspoilt there is much of interest to naturalists also, particularly bird watchers, butterfly lovers and wild orchid seekers.
Pool-side cocktails after a round of Golf:
A pool is a pool. This one is 11m by 5m and has especially gorgeous views. The golf course has been declared one of the trickiest in Europe - with a couple of wicked holes-through-trees and a heavenly 550-yarder to cut loose on.
Golf:
As well as our own private, rustic golf course there is an 18 hole course at Periguex which is 20 minutes drive away and also has good restaurants near it. There are a number of smaller, rustic courses within an hours drive, mostly on the Dordogne river. A trip to these can be combined with gastronomic experience or a visit to grotto or castle. We are still arguing about where to place our ninth hole - your input will be much appreciated!
Other Activities:
eating out! Visiting caves, castles, places of historic interest.
