Superb villa in beautiful location with private pool
Fongrive Haut is a lovely villa with its own private pool, sun terraces and patios. It is spacious and offers comfortable family accommodation. The villa has 3 bedrooms that are two doubles and one twin. In addition, there is a bed/settee in the 2nd reception room. The beds will be made up for your arrival and towels are provided. There is an en-suite facility, a family bathroom with WC and separate WC. The spacious farmhouse kitchen/dining room is the hub of the house. The kitchen area is fully equipped and the dining table is able to seat up to 10 people comfortably. The lounge has a log fire and comfortable seating. There is a TV/Games room that has further seating with satellite television, various board games, books and videos. There is a table tennis table. Outside there is ample garden furniture and a BBQ. The villa has beautiful views of the village church, the lake, the vines and the surrounding countryside. Fongrive Haut benefits from full central heating.

Fongrive Haut is situated in the Dordogne on a country lane just outside the village of Thenac about 12 miles south of Bergerac. The towns of St Foy La Grande, Eymet and Duras are all close by. The local countryside is both beautiful and unspoilt with rolling hills covered with the vineyards of the Perigord Poupre. The nearest supermarket is 3 miles distant in Sigoules. There are many medieval 'Bastide' towns in the area each with their own unique atmosphere and open-air markets are held in different towns every day of the week. The renowned Chateau de Vigier Golf and Country Club is a ten minute drive. There are good motorway links from the channel ports and the area is also served by flights to Bordeaux (90 mins from house) or Bergerac (30 mins from house).

Notes to the rental rates

A deposit of 20% is required at time of booking. The balance is payable 6 weeks before arrival date. A security deposit of £200 will be required and will be refunded at the end of your stay provided there is no damage.

During July and August the changeover day is fixed at a Saturday. Outside of these dates the owners can be flexible concerning other days. All bookings run from 4pm on day of arrival to 10am on day of departure.
For Christmas and New Year rates refer to owners. As the house benefits from full central heating it is very suitable for long winter lets that can be arranged at reduced rental.

All prices include electricity, water and gas. Central heating is not normally provided from May to end of September, except at owners discretion.

| Notes: | The villa is spacious with large rooms and high ceilings. Comfortably furnished as a family home. There are two terraces, the south is covered and the west is open thus giving plenty of space for outside dining. There are extensive views of the lovely countryside to the east, south and west where the sunsets are stunning. Local wine is available to purchase. There are two steps to access the front door. The villa is set in about 2500 square metres of garden where the 9m by 4m pool (depth 1.25m) is situated surrounded by a paved sun terrace. Pool is open May to end September and is unheated. General Information
The towns of the Dordorgne offer many events throughout the year and most have a weekly market. There are many excellent restaurants in the area catering for all tastes and budgets. Touring is a pleasure with such splendid scenery and quiet roads. Walks are available direct from the house with maps displayed by the village church. A Parc de Loisirs is located within 4 miles and offers a lakeside sandy beach with water flume, pedalos, tennis, volleyball etc. Fishing is also available in this lake. There are several golf courses in the area.
Wines
The villa is located in the main wine growing area for the Bergerac wines. There is a 'Route de Vins' through the region where visits can be made to the local vineyards to taste the local produce.
Activities
There are plenty of things to do in the area although some activities are seasonal. The Dordogne is full of wonderful towns and villages to visit, numerous chateaux to see, pre-historic caves to explore, and of course the river itself. The Dordogne has many beautiful views, numerous riverside restaurants and why not hire a canoe for a trip on the river itself. Other activities within thirty minutes drive include ten pin bowling, go-karting, mountain biking, evening markets, organised walks, and horse-riding.

Golf Information:
The delightful 18-hole golf course at Chateau de Vigiers is about 4 miles distant. This is an excellent par 72, 6002 metres course designed by Donald Steel, in a beautiful location with superb facilities. The Chateau is also a top class hotel offering two delightful restaurants. Some 40 minutes south is the par 72, 6090 metres course near Castelnaud called the Villeneuve Golf and Country Club. There are lovely views from the course across the rolling hillsides. For those anxious to test their skills, there are a number of other good courses within an hour's drive.

A superb property, set in beautiful landscape, surrounded by vineyards, a very well equiped house, well furnished and in a great situation, only 20 minutes from the airport. Amost enjoyable experience, we have already booked again.
