The house is reached by a private driveway and there is only 1 other house nearby. The surrounding vinyards and river make this a truly peaceful location. The golf course and leisure complex of Chateau des Vigiers is only 10 minutes away.

Dordogne River

The Dordogne river is a superb listed nature reserve. From the terrace of the house you can sit and watch the local birdlife. From your vantage point you can see the canoes on the river or watch the swans glide past. The size of the fish that you can see from the river bank will amaze you. Canoe facilities are offered both in Ste Foy La Grande and Bergerac.

General Information

The summer season in the Dordogne offers hundreds of different events from town to town. Bergerac alone has 10 different events ranging from fireworks on the 14 July to long weekends of wine and food festivals. The local restaurants range from 4 course set lunches with wine for 10 Euros to the 4 star restaurant at Chateau Des Vigiers. There is lots of information available and the owner is on hand to give you his personal advice.

Wine

Les Rives is at the heart of the wine growing region. Bordeaux and St Emilion to the west, Bergerac to the east. There are hundreds of wine producing chateaux in the area, many of whom offer free tasting.

Golf Information:

Chateau Des Vigiers is a golf and leisure complex which is only 7km away from Les Rives. It offers a 18 hole golf course and driving range. There is also a 6 hole academy course. Visitors are welcome and golfers with a minimum 36 handicap can play, with clubs, trolleys and electric carts for hire. The chateau also offers 2 restaurants and a beauty salon.
