Daglan is 20 km from Sarlat and less than 10 kilometres from Domme, in the verdant green valley of the River Ceou, a tributary of the River Domme which it joins at Castelnaud, 7 km away. As it is in the south of the Dordogne, Daglan is ideally situated for exploring the Lot. Daglan's Celtic name means 'Good beautiful valley'. The village has a boulangerie, general store, post office, restaurant and bar. It also has a small museum and tourist centre. The village park has a river beach, wooden picnic tables and stone barbecue to take your own picnics and is only 5 minutes from the house. Surrounded by good walks and ancient sites in the hills or along the river valley. See the local tourist office website for more photographs and information about the region: contact me for details.
