September in Domme

Review Submitted: September 28, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We have taken a number of holidays in the Dordogne over the years but this has to be the best property we have rented. Far better than we were expecting as the description and photographs cannot convey the attractiveness of the property both inside and out. Everything is provided and spotless on arrival. We were a party of 6 adults, 1 child aged 2 and a baby.
Fantastic views across the valley to Domme and the early morning mist rising from the Dordogne river is a sight not to be missed.
We will be back

My review

Review Submitted: November 13, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
This holiday was second to none, and was mostly due to the top quality of the accomodation, extremly clean and fresh, and modern. I would not hesitate to return in the future. 6 of us went as a group, Me, my girlfreind, my parents, and my uncle and aunt. The facilities in the house looked s if they had never been used and were the best of quality, The remote control for the garage really came in handy, didnt have to get out of the air conditioning in the car to open the garage, after all the outside temprature got up to a clammy 37degrees. The pictures on this website look nice but if im honest, dont really do it justice. The bedrooms a large, fresh, and the electric shutters were perfect for keeping the bugs out at night if you need the windows open. If you swithering on whether or not to book this accomodation, take it from me and my family, you will not be disapointed! Superb!.

Our hoilday

Review Submitted: October 21, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
The information supplied by the owners was comprehensive and helpful; it presented an understated picture of the property, which is truly fantastic. It was initially abit tricky to find, which was probably more down to our map reading than anything else. On arrival we were met by the housekeeper, who was warm and friendly. She spoke only a little English ,but somehow managed to tell us everything we needed to know and more. The house is beautiful and well laid out, a dream to relax in both during the day and evening, particularly on the terrace overlooking Domme in the distance. Truly wonderful. The kids loved the pool and generally exploring the grounds. The property is well located and within easy reach on the local 'casino'. There was so much to do nearby and we didn't have to travel far to visit caves or take a boat trip. We have recommended this property to our friends and family and look to return in the near future. Thank you for a great holiday.

Review of Holiday Home

pands England
Review Submitted: September 10, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My husband and I stayed at this home for a week in September 08 and had a lovely time. The house is very well equipped, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean.
The descriptions of the house given on the website are spot on, and the GPS directions given by the owners are very good.

The house has a truly wonderful view of Domme from the terrace, which you can gaze at all day long. It's very peaceful in the area, apart from a lonely donkey nearby which makes himself known every few hours (even at night - my husband and I wondered what on earth it was at first!).

The only 2 points I would mention about the house is that the manual in the house is all in French, so unfortunately no use to my husband and I who only speak/read a little - an English version would have been useful. The other point is that there are no fans in the house, so at night it can get very hot - we ended up buying a fan so we could get a good nights sleep.

You can walk to Domme from the house, through lovely country lanes and past some very pretty French houses, but prepared as it's hard work in the heat up those hills - takes about 40 minutes, after which you can soothe your thirst at one of the lovely cafes in Domme. Spectacular views up the top of Domme, so well worth a visit.

This is our second visit to the area which we both really love. There are quite a few towns worth a visit; many by the Dordogne River which is very pretty, but just relaxing by the pool can be of equal enjoyment.

I would highly recommend this house to others.
Owner's Response: We are trying and translating into English the manual of the house.
For the fan, we will buy one

Perfect family holiday.

Review Submitted: September 1, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
From the start the owners were a delight and seemed to go that extra mile to make our holiday as relaxing and trouble free as possible. The house was superb with the quiet location, quality of equipment and cleaniness more than we expected. We stayed there with 4 adults and 4 young children and we all had the best 2 weeks holiday we could imagine. We did a different activity nearly everyday (canoeing, horseriding, cycling, walking, visiting castles and chateaux, caving, tree climbing activities, and more!), most being within 20 minutes car ride of the house, and each one surpassed our expectations. Even jogging into Domme in the mornings to collect the French bread & croissants was a joy!
The area and scenery are stunning and looking out into the Dordogne valley takes your breathe away.
We didn't want to come home!
