La Groussie offers spacious accommodation with a large lounge/dining room (for 6) with kitchen and utility area. 3 double bedrooms (linen/towels supplied) bathroom with twin basins and bath with shower, shower room, toilet. There is a large terrace, perfect for alfresco dining with steps to our private 10 x 5 m heated pool (underwater lighting for evening dips) with roman steps, alarm system for child safety and ample sunbathing furniture. Solar shower at pool side. Tiled & covered veranda at rear of house. The completely secluded garden extends to nearly 3 acres, which is mainly in lawns with shrubs and a few mature trees for shade, handy for a siesta! The meadow has many cherry, plum and apple trees which give ample fruit for all to enjoy when in season. Ideal house for chilling out and using as a base for touring the Dordogne region. Bergerac is now served by the many Flybe & Ryanair flights from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Exeter, Nottingham, Southampton, Stansted & Liverpool

Our house is situated in a rural setting on a gentle hillside with scenic views across the valley. In the little picturesque village of Campsegret there are 2 restaurants and a small boulangerie/alimentation. It is an ideal tranquil base for visiting areas along the Dordogne River eastwards to Sarlat and further. The town of Bergerac, on the Dordogne (10km away) has a wonderful historic Old Town, an outstanding cathedral, excellent shopping and interesting boutiques with twice weekly bustling markets. Bergerac has many gourmet restaurants where one can sample the famous Perigord style cuisine. Near 2 golf courses. There are excellent wine tasting caves and wine & tobacco museums. The entire region is steeped in history with famous caves such as Lascaux & Eyzies within easy reach. Beynac, Sarlat, Domme and other bastide towns along the Dordogne are well worth a visit. The many world famous vineyards of Chateau Monbazillac, Montravel, Pecharmant & St Emilion are within easy driving.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Deposit 25% of total holiday cost. If booking 2 weeks £50.00 off 2nd week. A refundable damages deposit of £100 and the balance of the holiday has to be paid 2 months before commencement of the rental.
    Keys sent by post 2 weeks before start of holiday together with map showing the route to La Groussie.
    Keys must be returned within 2 weeks of leaving the house after which damages/breakages deposit will be sent provided no damage/breakages has occurred.
  • Cancellation charges apply. Should cancellation occur more than two months before the commencement date, then the deposit is not reimbursable, within two months cancellation charges are 100% of the holiday. However, we would endeavour to re-let the house and if successful all monies would be refunded apart from £10.00 admin charge.
    You are strongly advised to take out appropriate insurance before you send away the booking form and deposit to cover you for medical and personal injury expenses but also in the event of delays in your travel arrangements and against any cancellation charges payable if you have to cancel or curtail your holiday.

  • Both the blue & yellow bedrooms are east facing and have patio doors leading onto the terrace with stunning views over the valley. Even during the heat of the summer both these bedrooms remain relatively cool. Steps from the terrace lead to the heated pool. All the bedrooms have outside wooden shutters. With thick external walls the house remains relatively cool during warm weather and there are fans for additional cooling. The terrace has a large dining table and 6 chairs for that intimate alfresco meal.

La Groussie is everything we hoped it would be and more! The reality is even better than the pictures show. We stayed here for one week and it was perfect for chilling around the pool as well as a base for exploring the Dordogne.
The accomodation of La Groussie is excellent - the house is spacious and comfortable and the garden and pool are great too.
We have already recommended this wonderful holiday home to our families and would definitely return again!

Bergerac is a charming and friendly town to walk around, with fantastic restaurants and patisseries!
A visit to Eymet night market (half an hour south of Bergerac) on a Tuesday evening (summer months only) is well worth it. It has a fantastic atmosphere as well as freshly cooked moules!

All in all our holiday was excellent! Thank you to the owners for all their help.
