Both properties are ideal for outdoor eating or enjoying a glass of wine as the sunsets over the pool and the surrounding countryside.

La Grange, the larger of the gites, comfortably sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms, 2 doubles, 2 twin plus bunk beds, it has a family bathroom, shower room off a twin bedded room, dinning and lounge with french doors leading to the patio area. The large modern kitchen is fully fitted with floor and wall cupboards, equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven and hob, micro-wave, kettle, toaster etc. The large patio area overlooks much of the gardens and swimming pool, garden furniture, gazebo and parasol and large barbeque is ideal for outdoor eating and to take a glass of wine as the sun sets over the rolling countryside. The large swimming pool (40x20) has its own sun terrace, positioned to take full advantage of the sun, a solar shower, ample sun loungers and sun shades. Within the grounds there is a children's play area, ideal fro the under 12's, Boules Court, Giant chess/draughts, Solitaire, Badminton and Golf practice net.

The Area

The Perigord area is steeped in history, from pre-historic cave drawings through to Gallo-Roman times up to the modern day way of life can be visited at the museums at Perigueux. Rivers in abundance provide fishing, canoeing, the lakes with sandy beaches at Jemaye and Aubeterre offer a suitable change from sunning oneself around the pool. The Atlantic beaches at Royan & La Rochelle are approx 2hrs away. Inland Brantome - the Venice of France is 20 mins away, further afield Limoges famous for its pottery, Oradour the martre village, Rocamadour voted one of the prettiest villages in France are again 2 hrs away. Cognac with its famous distilleries, all of whom offer guided tours, tasting &the opportunity to buy their products is less than 1 hr away.

We the owners are on site at all times and do try to respect your privacy, but are more than happy to help you in any way to ensure you have a really pleasant stay at Les Garennes and fully enjoy this part of France. We can book the restaurant of your choice & to advise or suggest whats on or where to go. A babysitting service can be arranged for those with small children, for a nominal cost.
