Villa with modern facilities incl salt water pool, central to all attractions
Peace and privacy is offered by this comfortable, heated, villa set in the Dordogne countryside in the Perigord Blanc, surrounded by woods and meadows. In the outskirts of village. The very spacious garden is completely fenced. With a large table under a pergola with lounge chairs and recliners. The SALT WATER pool is private and for your sole use. A barbecue in the back-garden and a very spacious side- and back-garden with shady places. Walking distance to small village with shops includes a bakery, butchers, a bar and a small very pretty restaurant. Restaurants are not expensive (beginning at 11€ for a four course meal!) and the quality is top notch. During long walks in the forest a short distance from this house you will rarely see other people. Wild deer, otters, falcons and eagles have been seen in the woodlands. The road outside finishes a few hundred yards away so very peaceful - no traffic. Large supermarkets are at Perigueux (6km) and St Astier (7km).

Our Dordogne villa is situated in one of the most beautiful regions of France. We love the region because it encapsulates all that we like about home, bakes it in sunshine and adds gallic spice washed down with rich red wine, lush rolling hills, fragrant meadows, leafy country lanes, stone cottages with flower filled gardens, clean trout rivers, pretty villages and greenery as far as the eye can see. It's beautiful, friendly and comfortable The village of Annesse et Beaulieu is located in the heart of the scenic Dordogne region and only 10 km from its capital, the city of Perigueux. Visitors will enjoy its unspoiled countryside while hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and golfing. Perigueux - nearest town (10min drive away)
Perigueux is the proud owner of the largest cathedral in southwestern France. The Romanesque Cathedrale St-Front was only completed in the 19th Century when the architect Paul Abadie oversaw the restoration and embellishment of the building. Around the cathedral you will find a number of winding lanes from the 15th and 16th Centuries. Follow them down to the pedestrianised Rue Limogeanne and you will find where the locals have been doing most of their shopping since the Middle Ages. The town was originally inhabited by a Gaulish tribe called Petrocorri. It was the Romans, however, who claim the credit for developing the town into the department’s prosperous capital. Today it is still a major market town. The market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays when people come from all over the region to display their goods and browse for the latest bargains. The local specialties are truffles and pies.
Golf Information
There is an 18 hole course at Periguex which is 10 minutes drive away and also has good restaurants near it. There are a number of smaller, rustic courses within an hours drive, mostly on the Dordogne river. A trip to these can be combined with gastronomic experience or a visit to grotto or castle.
Some highlights of the area
.Nearby is the delightful medieval town of Brantome where it is a delight to walk around the remarkable and ancient abbey founded by Charlemagne (742-814). With its soaring campanile this is one of the most elegant medieval and Renaissance buildings in the Dordogne, complete with caves used by the monks as kitchens and cellars. The town sits on a bend of the river Dronne and a stroll along the riverside is an unforgettable experience. Loads of brilliant restaurants complete the experience – you will come back. There are also boats trips available. About 10 km down the river you come to the pretty village of Bourdeilles where there are two chateaux of different periods built on a fortified hill – a medieval fortress (13th – 14th century) and a Renaissance palace (16th) with a remarkable collection of furniture. On the river Dronne you can rent a canoe Just a short distance away there is the little town of Riberac and is renowned for its Friday market – the best in the area
Golf Information:
There is a superb 18 hole golf course at Perigieux - about 7 min by car
