Pechaudier is a spacious villa with stunning views over oak forests and is ideal for family holidays all year round. There is a large airy upstairs living room with dining area and double doors. These open onto the balcony that runs the length of the building and has its own dining area. The kitchen is supplied with plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. There are four good-sized bedrooms, two with double beds and two with twin beds, plus a downstairs bed-sitting room with a double sofa bed. The 8m x 4m swimming pool has a Roman Step that makes it ideal for younger children. Situated on a peaceful hillside, the area abounds with wildlife and you are free to wander through the adjoining countryside. You may be lucky enough to see a red squirrel or to hear the nightingales in the copse nearby, while in early summer the banks of the lane are studded with glow-worms. The meadow adjoining the garden is full of flowers in the spring, including many species of orchid.

The villa overlooks a peaceful forested valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is about 20 minutes' drive south-west of the fascinating medieval town of Sarlat, which offers a wide range of shops and restaurants and, reputedly, one of the best street markets in France. The Dordogne river is close by and offers canoeing and swimming in stunning surroundings. There are many historic chateaux and bastide towns in the vicinity, as well as famous prehistoric cave painting sites. The location is perfect whether you prefer to be totally secluded or within a short drive of the centre of a bustling town.

There is a steep slope up the side of the building that leads to the main living areas and this would be the only way a wheelchair user could enter the villa at this level, i.e. if they could not use the internal stairs. Maintenance: An English couple look after our villa and ensure that it is clean and ready for your stay. They will clean and maintain the pool both before and during your stay. They will also be available to do a small amount of shopping before your stay and can be contacted in an emergency.

The Pool : The Pool complies with the latest safety regulations. You will be given information on how to cover/uncover it. There is a solar shower next to the pool.

Information Pack: On receipt of the final payment for your holiday, we provide a comprehensive information pack covering directions, access, instructions on how to use the house's facilities, walks from around the house and recommended places to visit, eat etc.

Other Activities: canoeing, zip-wire, visits to chateaux, caves, gardens.
