The design of La Cime Des Arbres, parts of which date back to 1650, plays on the southeast and southwest orientation providing lovely light from dawn to dusk, with most of the activity taking place on the second floor (thus the name treetops) providing views and perspective on the surrounding forests and valley. The house is largely hand made-- from the surrounding fence to the kitchen and windows and oak staircase and traditional oak terrace. Every room is different and interesting. There are three outdoor terraces and many places to quietly read, (or play loudly). Compared to the average, local summer water temperature of 27C, the pool is maintained at 30C and is perfect for late night swims. And for security we have installed the most advanced electronic pool security available.
Management Philosopy:
We began renting properties in 2001 while on summer vacation, beginning with the Manior Le Volveix. Without exception we have had wonderful guests who have always been considerate and friendly and appreciative. We have excellent teams to quickly handle or solve any contingency you might encounter in rural France -- from bees to electricity outages (from lightning) to one guest whose car rolled through a wall at a local restaurant. Our philosophy is to recreate the experience of our favorite luxury boutique hotels and give guests a.glimpse of French rural life. We have children and care about safety and fun. We replace appliances yearly and ensure the linens and towels and beds are of the highest quality. With the maps, guides and a welcome book, we are always on call (but not intrusive) to advise on restaurants, attractions, best golf courses or walks, or to answer special requests -- a surprise microlight trip or an anniversary dinner with the late President Mitterand's chef.
Guest Comments:
Hi John, Anne-Marie and Family (and Dog),
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful house with us for the week. We had a tremendous time and I'm rather disappointed to be back in drizzly Norwich and at work!
Not only did the house have everything we could possibly have needed and was incredibly comfortable, it was also a beautiful place to be. The fireplace was a fantastic bonus – when I got home and unpacked my case, everything smelled rather nicely of bonfires. My room (upstairs double with the red silk headboard) was absolute luxury and very comfortable too.
It's been many years since the four of us spent a whole week together and I think we were all a little surprised how well we got on and how much fun we had! This was in no small part due to the stunning surroundings we were staying in and the thoughtful things that you had left for us to enjoy.
Hopefully seen you again soon.
Amy
