Places to stay in Narbonne, France
Gruissan is a fantastic seaside resort in Aude, dating back many centuries, the old town is beautiful, and built around a Barberousse fortress. However, it is the wonderfully long, golden beach, lined by over 1300 beach huts, and the wonderful sporting marina that really attract tourists to Gruissan. The beach is ideal for families, as the soft sands slope gently into the warm waters of the Mediterranean, overlooked by lifeguards. There are also many activity options, from nature walks to rock climbing, sailing to tennis.
The blue flag beach resort of Narbonne Plage actually lies 15km from the city of Narbonne itself. Although Narbonne Plage is a highly popular beach resort for families and water sport enthusiasts, there is so much beach to choose from that it never seems crowded.
Leucate is a fantastically colourful village in the Narbonne region. Set four miles from one of the most popular naturist beaches in France, and filled with cafes and restaurants of the highest quality, Leucate is always a favourite place to stay on the Aude coast.
