This charming old farmhouse is hidden away in a valley of the unspoilt and breathtakingly beautiful haute Corbieres, far from the maddening crowds of summer. The large living room and kitchen both lead out onto the gravel covered terrace where you can contemplate the crystalline blue of the 11 metre pool contrasted with the vibrant green of the lush vegetation that surrounds it. The pool is bathed in glorious Mediterranean sunlight all day long which hinders the effort to tear yourself away to go and visit the glorious countryside drenched in Cathar history and mystique. Although the shops are a drive away the local baker insists on coming round to the doorstep every day in his van to offer his irresistible, mouth-watering pastries, oh and the bread's not bad either. The pool can also be enjoyed at night thanks to the lighting in and around it. The whole of the ground floor is split between the large living room and kitchen while the bedrooms are divided between the other 2 floors.

House details

The house was formerly divided into 2 flats and boasts 2 kitchens, although the upper one serves as more of a reception room as it is accessed by the main entrance and is not fully equipped. 2 of the bedrooms on the second floor are spacious and one of them has an area of 40 m² and could have additional beds to serve as a dormitory. The smaller bedroom on the first floor is ensuite and though the bathroom is small it is fully equipped. The bedroom with the king-sized bed is in a sort of annexe and is completely private, if desired it can be closed off from the rest of the house and also be considered ensuite, it also leads out onto a private terrace, at first floor level, at the back of the house. If outdoor dining is not possible then the large kitchen table will easily accomadate everyone.

Facilities

There is a TV and a PlayStation 2, with 1 console, which doubles up as the DVD player. There are over 10 games and over 80 films available as well as some Cd's. All the beds and electrical appliances are new and there is even an iron available. There are 7 outside lights and the pool also has underwater lighting which all help to maximise the al fresco experience. Bathroom towels are provided but not pool ones. The fenced garden is spacious while not massive, however there are 7 hectares of woodland attached to the property.
