Fabulous converted 17th century winery surrounded by vineyards with stunning views of the canal and Montaigne Noire. Conveniently located 6km from pretty market town of Narbonne. 2 acres of shared gardens with large swimming pool (12 x 6m), swing and climbing frame. 25min drive to beaches. The stone barns and stables have been lovingly converted into two large 4 bedroom house and one huge 5-bedroom house. Each house has beamed ceilings, 2 bathrooms, spacious lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, private terrace with garden furniture and BBQ. Also available are a delightfully spacious 2-bedroom apartment, sleeping 4/5, on the first floor of the Maison de Maitre, and a super large 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, both fully furnished and equipped, each with its own private BBQ area. Cots and highchairs provided, babysitting, linen and towel hire. Telephone, internet connection and satellite TV in each property. Private parking. Fun and friendly atmosphere! Family run since 1989

A super large 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, fully furnished and equipped with its own private barbecue area. A wooden staircase leads up to the entrance of what was once a part of the working winery above the wine presses. This apartment has high ceilings, fabulous beams and large windows. The open plan living area contains a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area. The living/ dining area has two large sofas and a wooden dining table and chairs. The double and one of the twin bedrooms look out beyond the cherry tree in the courtyard, towards the pool and fields. The apartment is on one level apart from the third bedroom which is on the floor above and has two single beds. For outdoor dining there is a bbq, table and chairs in the courtyard next to the apartment’s entrance. Cots and highchairs provided, babysitting, linen and towel hire available. Private telephone, free wireless broadband and satellite TV (freeview channels) in each property. Private parking.

Riding, walking, fishing, swimming, and canoeing along the crystal clear waters of the rivers Orb, Cesse and Aude, or splashing under the waterfall at the ancient village of Roquebrun. Roman remains in Nimes, the famous Pont du Gard; stunning gorges, grottoes, canyons and the magnificent vineyards of the Minervois and Corbières with abundant wine tasting. The long sandy Mediterranean beaches are half an hours’ drive away. Narbonne Plage with its cafes, bars and ice-cream parlours. Gruissan, a beautifully landscaped resort full of flowers, palm trees and laurier rose bushes, with pink flamingos from the lively new marina to the ancient village.

Good location for families - and looks set to improve with owners plans to provide some shade near the pool and possible solar heating of the water. We would certainly consider returning another year,
Cot, high chair & stair-gate provided on request
Apartments have a lot of stairs, so not suitable for disabled.
A welcome pack of a few basic foodstuffs as provided at most gites would be nice.
Car absolutely essential.
