My house is situated in Fleury-D'Aude the charming & typical village Languedocien on the coast between the Mediterranean, the Clape mountains & the river Aude. 60mins from International airports Carcassone, Perpignan, Montpellier. 15mins nearest railway station Narbonne TGV. 15mins nearest motorway junction Narbonne Est. The village is surrounded by astounding landscape consisting of high chalk cliffs overlooking an admirable mixture of pine trees, vineyards, bushes & salt lagoon. This is a great area for holiday with the beautiful beaches, excellent, long, plenty of space & fine sand. Perfect for relaxing or water sports. Fleury-d'Aude (the mediaeval village with his charming little streets & attractive shops, restaurants,) Cabanes de Fleury (the fishermen's village. The latter still practice the ancient ways of fishing. Ideal starting point for sea rides) & St Pierre la Mer (the seaside resort par excellence with the long beaches, the largest tourist market. Close to history sites.

The village is surrounded by an astounding landscape consisting of high chalk cliffs overlooking an admirable variety of pine trees, vineyards and other plant-life.

The Commune with Three Faces: Fleury d'Aude, St Pierre La Mer and Les Cabanes de Fleury are 3 villages forming a small interdependent commune. St Pierre La Mer is a seaside resort par excellence with a charming and convivial atmosphere. It boasts 8kms of fine, sandy, un-crowded beaches, a beautiful marina and an immense craft/food market open daily. Les Cabanes de Fleury is an appealing little fishing port whose traditions are still very much alive. You must visit it's wild beaches.

A Delightful Stay!

We are a Canadian family of four and stayed in this delightful house for one week this June. It was exactly what we were looking for, a sunny change to our working routine. We melted in the South of France village life, enjoyed the beaches, the food. And did i mention the wine? We greatly appreciated the refinement of the house, with a very feminine touch. The place was immaculate and we would recommend it without the shadow of a doubt.

we have enjoyed exploring the area, and found super spots to swim an d enjoy the local cuisine.
we particularly enjoyed a day at les cabanes de fleury ( the beach is a great spots) and also visited carcassonne, narbonne ( wonderfull open-air market ).
We did visit a couple of minerves, canal du midi, sallèle d'aude.
The wines are excellent, i recommend l'hospitalet and bel évêque, both excellent.
we have enjoyed our week in fleury d'aude, a very friendly place where the people are very welcoming.
we enjoyed your house and the butterflies in the bedroom are a nice touch and in particular the late evenings on the terrace with the bottles products of the région.
a great week.

unexpedted disappointment

In my most honest terms I will review the property that my family spent a week in. The property is located in a charming little village and the village people were very nice and helpfull. It is a quick drive to nice beaches and other attractions. The door to the property opens right onto the road with the main road through the village on the other side just five feet away. The traffic somewhat subsides around eleven at night and starts early in the morning. The window in the main bedroom vibrates every minute during traffic times making it hard to sleep. Also the noise of the constant traffic keeps you awake. The only good thing about the third bedroom is that it has no windows making it quieter. The stairs are dangerous to children and almost everyone as they are spiral and uneven, with a little rope as a handrail. The house has everyting you would need in it, altough the heating allounce provided is very mean and i would not like to have had to turn on the heating as the allownece would barely cover showering. I was also charged 42euro on arrival extra for bank charges and was asked to pay for towles that I was told was included.
Owner's Response: The overall feeling of the review is very negative after saying that « the house has everything you would need in it “How sad and unfair such comment have to appear for everyone to read and have a completely negative opinion of the house . I take it from Their comment that their main concern was the noise .The house is right in the heart of the village near all local shops and sport facilities …one can expect a certain amount of noise actually made by local villagers going about their daily business.

As for the problem of the window it is a pity the guests didn’t phone me to let me know.

As for the towels the clients haven’t paid for them …I sometimes offer them and it was the case for this family.

As for the electricity as stipulated in the contract I offer 50 kw /hrs per week. These clients have paid 481 euros for their week which is very reasonable in this region .

I am very sorry this familly didn’t feel my house met their requirement

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely house.The village is very friendly and the beaches are superb.Like the others we enjoyed your house and in particular the late evenings on the terrace with the bottled products of the area.We recommend eating in Narbonne-plage at lunchtime(to get away from the heat on the beaches!).We hope very much to return next year.Thank you very much.
