The Village and Area: Whilst entirely private, the property is situated close to the centre of a medieval village with 14th century Church, Town wall and ramparts. A Boulangerie, grocery shop, restaurant, bar and many local wine caves are all within easy walking distance. The Canal du Midi traverses the southern boundary of village. The village also sports municipal tennis courts and bouladrome. A leisure lake with water skiing, sailing, pedaloes, windsurfing and fishing facilities is less than a mile away. The magical city of Carcassonne is close by, and together with the Cathar citadels , bears witness to the area's dramatic past and of course the Mediterranean Sea with its long white sandy beaches is never far away. Popular day trips include Andora, The Camargue, Collioure, Dali museum at Figureres(Spain). The area is also a veritable haven for walkers with the Montagne Noire and the Corbieres Hills leading to the Pyrenees close by.
