“Tour des Anges” is a superb example of a traditional Languedoc family home, beautifully situated in a 1300m² garden with large private pool (10 x 4m). The house itself is about two hundred years old, although it also incorporates an ancient medieval tower reflecting the unique history of the region. The house offers comfortable and high quality accommodation with 6 bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two sitting rooms are available for extra privacy, plus a further children's sitting / play room with satellite TV and DVD player. The house has recently been tastefully redecorated and is beautifully furnished throughout with some period pieces in the living areas. The kitchen has been fully renovated and equipped and leads on to the terrace, garden and newly decked pool, which are ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining. A large barbeque is also provided. The west facing gardens have views of Alaric mountain, and offer lots of shade for hot summer days. The pool has its own shower room.

Tour des Anges is located in a wine growing hamlet, only 15 minutes from Carcassonne, a World Heritage City and 5 minutes drive from Trebes and the Canal du Midi. There is a Michelin starred restaurant in the Chateau which is just a one minute walk. Carcassonne airport is 20 minutes away, with flights from London Stanstead, Dublin, East Midlands and Brussels. Toulouse Airport is just over one hour drive, with flights from Gatwick and many more European airports. The nearest shops, banks, Internet Cafe and supermarkets are 5 minutes drive away in Trebes. The region is famous for its Cathar History, beautiful villages and of course the vineyards which surround us. Wonderful walking, trekking and mountain-biking are at our back door. We are an easy 40 minute drive from the Mediterranean beaches and just over an hour and a half to the Pyrenees. The location is excellent for Winter Breaks, with skiing, toboganning, exciting wind surfing and winter trekking available.

  • JUNE and SEPTEMBER are lovely months in the area, without the crowds of August, usually a little cooler and very pleasant. Do ask us about special rates.
    The House is available for CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR. Please ask us if you would like more information. Carcassonne is delightful at Christmas, with a lovely Christmas market, and winter sports are easily accessible in the Pyrenees under two hours away. Do please if you would like more ideas for a real Christmas family holiday!
    We are also happy to discuss prices for longer, winter lets.
  • All Our prices include electricity, oil, linen and towels for the bathrooms and the pool. A welcome pack will be waiting for you on arrival. A security deposit of 25% is requested on booking, and the balance becomes due 8 weeks before commencement of your holiday.

Notes: Additional to the above, we would like to mention : The Terrace has a large, wooden dining table and seating for 12, plus a further pool-side table and chairs. We also have a separate TV (satellite) room on the top floor with two sofas, large floor cushions and a refrigerator. Ideal for children if they need to be indoors! On the ground floor, there is an additional ‘snug’ with sofas, a second dining table and 4 chairs, and small satellite TV. This is a pretty room with an old, working fireplace. The village tennis courts, boules, volleyball and tree lined playing field, are a couple of minutes walk away. For elderly or infirm visitors, wheel chairs can access the ground floor up three steps to the front door, or directly, with no steps, from the door onto the terrace. The three bedrooms on the 1st floor are accessed by a wide staircase, but the three bedrooms on the second floor, and the TV room mentioned above, are via a narrow and quite steep wooden staircase.

+++'We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the house and it was a wonderful size for a lot of people.
We managed to use the pool quite a lot although the weather was changeable. To eat outside and
be able to seat everyone stopped us going out for evening meals. Hopefully we will return, but of
course it is sometimes difficult to get everyone to agree on when. I personally love the area because
there is so many different aspects, sea, country, castles, and lots of walking, but children like sand
and swimming pools. A wonderful time was had by all.'
+++'Just a note to say how much we all enjoyed our stay in your wonderful villa. I would really like to know the history of the villa if you have any, I understand that it used to be the chateau of the village. Having taken many holidays in France we appreciate good food and wine and your info on local markets was invaluable. All in all a very relaxing break and I will definitely recommend you to all my friends. Many thanks'
