Cap D'Agde attractions:
This resort offers something to suit most tastes. By choosing the time of year that you come it is possible to have a quiet relaxing holiday or by coming during July/August a lively active style of holiday. The character of the whole area changes dramatically during those two months as the French and many Northern Europeans head south for the main holidays. But outside of the main period the area returns to its more leisurely lifestyle.
Within 200m of the apartment is an 18-hole golf course which offers day passes. There is a large aqualand within easy walking distance which is open during July and August and a great place for children to spend a fun day. The beach is within easy walking distance of the apartment as is the centre of the port with its myriad restaurants and bars. There are amusement parks to cater for the child which open during the main season as do the many nightclubs and the casino. Various water sports can be tried.
Historic places:
There are many historic places to visit within easy reach of Cap D'Agde. Agde itself is one of the oldest towns in France and much of the town centre properties date back many hundreds of years, and the Canal Du Midi and the Herault river running through the town provide an interesting attraction.
Beziers is a fascinating town to wander around with the Canal du Midi staircase lock system of Fonserranes just on the edge of the town, and the superb views from the cathedral precincts across to the Pyrenees.
The town of Pezenas is a popular visit for many people and has attracted so many of them that there is now a substantial English population living there.
Sete is well worth a visit with its many canals running through the town giving it the local name of the Venice of France.
Places of Interest:
Cap D'Agde is also home to the largest naturist resort in Europe. This is a completely separate enclosed town on the eastern edge of the cap. With a gated entrance to visit you must buy a day pass but once inside you are at liberty to get an all over tan should you be inclined. The town has its own shops, bars, restaurants, night clubs and even a cinema.
An interesting day can be spent looking around the walled city of Carcassonne which dates back to the middle ages. This wonderfully preserved medieval town gets a little touristy in the summer but it is still well worth a visit.
These notes give just a few of the many places that are worth visiting but if you like a more relaxing holiday the beach is an easy short stroll from the apartment and Cap D'Agde has everything to hand to provide an enjoyable relaxing holiday.
