Ground-floor apartment for self-catering with its own terrace and little hedged garden situated in a small and pretty development in the village of Grau d'Agde, close to the sea/beach, the River Herault and the historic small city of Agde. Grau d'Agde itself ( the port of Agde) is an attractive village with its daily street market, riverside restaurants , and a fine sandy family-orientated beach. The famous resort of Cap d'Agde, with its fine beaches, good range of restaurants, several tourist attractions, its renowned Village Naturiste and lively nightlife is less than ten minutes away by car, while Beziers, Montpellier, Sete and historic Pezenas with its craft shops are within half an hour by car and Carcassonne is just over an hour away by road. Vineyards are everywhere. Agde is the second oldest city in France, with many small cobbled streets, a black Cathedral, several museums, a range of riverside restaurants and the world's only Round Lock on the famous Canai du Midi

No 23 Les Jardins de la Mer is a spacious ground-floor two double-bedroomed apartment which can comfortably accommodate up to four persons (a sofa-bed for two extra personis in the large lounge). In addition to the two double bedrooms and lounge, there is a well-equipped American-style kitchen, and a separate shower and WC plus a large terrace, complete with roller awning, ideal for eating outside in the Mediterranean sunshine, and a small hedged garden. A dedicated parking space is provided opposite the apartment. Les Jardins de la Mer is a pretty mature development of small houses and apartments, in an enclosed garden-type environment, with many trees and shrubs, and is situated on the edge of the village some fifteen minutes walk from the centre with its shops, market, riverside restaurants and the beach. It’s very secure, with access restricted exclusively to occupants by locked gates. It's possible to walk along the nearby banks of the river Herault to Agde or Grau d'Agd

Le Grau d'Agde is an attractive fishing village at the mouth of the River Herault, with its own sandy Mediterranean beaches, situated close to the ancient small city of Agde itself, and just a couple of miles from the famous lively resort of cap d'Agde. It's surprisingly quick and easy to reach by road from the UK using the Autoroutes, or by air via Montpellier, Carcassonne or Perpignan, or you can easily go by rail via Lille or Paris using the high-speed TGV direct to the railway station at Agde. The Herault Region enjoys a marvellous climate, and there's lots to see and do if you tire of lazing on the beach - the regional Capital of Montpellier, Beziers, Sete, Pezenas, the Haute Languedoc National Park and the Canal du Midi are all within about half an hour by road while Carcassonne, the Camargue, Perpignan and the Pyrenees are only about an hour or so away by road - there are also good train services from Agde to many of these destinations. Good locak bus services.

Notes: This is a spacious very comfortable apartment, in a peaceful environment, ideally suitable for couples but a family with two children may enjoy it. The communal garden area is save and secure. In the height of the season when all the French are on holiday themselves and enjoying themselves outside it is perhaps a little more noisy. Please note the cooker is only a small one but has a grill facility and there are 4 separate cooking hobs. New for 2009 Microwave.
