Exactly What We Hoped For!

A perfect experience from the moment we arrived and were greeted by managers Aurore and Nour. They were so charming and friendly... helping us carry our heavy bags up the winding stone staircase, showing us how the appliances worked, and then taking us for a lovely tour of the area -- so we would know the best places to shop for food and wine. They live very close by, so although we never needed them, it was nice to know they were only a quick phone call away. Our favorite parts of this beautiful apartment: The furnishings and decor... the 4 elegant floor-to-ceiling French doors... the grand view of the pedestrian plaza and the historic buildings and churches... as well as going to sleep to the pleasant buzz of conversations from the cafe 4 floors beneath us (which usually became quiet around midnight or so)... waking up to the sound of the cobblestones being swept (don't plan on wearing your very high heels in the historic areas!)... and the modern conveniences too: hard-wired internet, a large and new bathroom, secure locks, and a well-furnished kitchen for cooking. We LOVED our stay and wish it could have been even longer than a week. We visited many local cafes, went to the beach via bus one day, rented a bike for touring the city, shopped on the Place de Comedie, enjoyed Le Jardin de Plantes, joined the Friday night Festivale near the art museum (wine! food! concerts! craft vendors and artisanal foods!) The apartment is well situated to the train station too... as well as the historic sights of Montpellier. Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your gorgeous home with us -- and thank you to Aurore and Nour for your advice, your warmth, and wonderful hospitality. We would love to visit again!
Owner's Response: As this review indicates the apartment is practically at the epicentre of things to do in Montpellier, as well as a good base from which to explore Languedoc-Roussillion, a fascinating region. The apartment also offers a luxurious respite from the outside world when tenants want to chill for a while. I'm very pleased that the eyeofblue party enjoyed their stay and were appreciative of efforts by Aurore and Nour, fonts of local knowledge, to make their visit as pleasant as possible.
