On the outskirts of the charming 13th Century village of Capestang, Le Petit Saint Nazaire is a former wine-growers residence in a rural location surrounded by vineyards and with a backdrop of the Black Mountains to the North. The house has 2 gites, both offering a bright, open plan lounge & dining area with new, fully-fitted kitchen. The sleeping accommodation upstairs comprises bright and airy double room & a twin room. The bathroom includes a bath with an incorporated shower unit over. Outside is a 10x5m pool with concrete surround and patio furniture and a large garden which has a children play area, a BBQ and ample garden furniture upon which to relax and enjoy the views, making it perfect for a relaxing family holiday. Served by Beziers airport - just 40 minutes away and Carcassonne, Perpignan and Montpellier airports, all within an hours reach, Capestang is an ideal base from which to discover the experience of the Languedoc.

Le Petit Saint Nazaire ia former wine-growers property and this gite is newly converted from within the barn area. The downstairs living space is an open-plan fully-fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. It has a double aspect; opening onto the pool and garden to the north and overlooking the drive to a field of olive trees to the south. It has a tiled floor, exposed wooden beams and is bright, clean and airy with comfortable, modern furnishings for a non-cluttered feel. There is a large garden offering numerous sitting and eating areas, a children play area with climbing frame, slide and play house and a 10x5 metres pool with concrete surround for the sun-loungers.

The area is famed for its shellfish and within a 20 minute drive of Le petit Saint Nazaire, both Narbonne Plage and Valras Plage offer a huge selection of restaurants specialising in fresh produce from the sea.

Making Your Stay Comfortable: The owners of Le Petit Saint Nazaire live in the main house and are on hand to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They are happy to assist you with any enquiries and to suggest activities, places to visit, for walks or cycling, restaurants to try and to arrange wine-tasting tours through the local tourist office. The rental includes a welcome pack but the owners offer the service of providing a more extensive range of groceries ready for your arrival. A baby-sitting/child-minding service is also available if required. The owners have two young children of their own and can offer a range of kid’s toys, child seats, baby baths, toilet seats etc, if required, at no extra charge.

Activites Available: The range of activities available within a 30 minute drive of Le Petit Saint Nazaire is huge. The beaches of course not only offer sand and sea but parascending, quad biking, wind surfing, water skiing, go karting, horse riding, fun parks and more. The area is rich in architectural heritage with the Cathar castles nearby and numerous historical towns such as Carcassonne, Minerve, Collioure and Roquebrun, which are a delight for the artist and romantic alike. The Black Mountains offer rugged, dramatic scenery, rock climbing, challenging walks and cycle rides, as well as kayaking and rafting on the river Orb and the whole area is rich in wildlife and is a haven for bird-watching. The village of Capestang itself has the Canal du Midi, with boating opportunities, as well as being a great starting point for walks and cycle rides, with bikes available for hire. There is also a skate park, boulodrome, children’s play park and tennis courts.

Further Afield: The area has 2 golf courses available, a mature and demanding 18 hole, top-level course near Beziers and a municipal 9 hole course at Lamalou les Bains, equally challenging in it's own right. For shopping Narbonne and Beziers are just 15 minutes away and a little further afield, the cultural centre of Montpelier has everything on offer. Further still Spain and Andorra lie just under 2 hours away, with skiing available in winter!

Just returned from a two week stay at Gite 2 and we can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, hassle-free stay. James and Michele, Sydney and Fyn were fantastic hosts and couldn't have made our holiday easier. They were brilliant with our three year old son and the climbing frame and all the toys they kindly made available made it a real home-from-home. Location wise it was a good base to explore the region and we comfortably visited Banyuls, Carcassonne and Montpellier.
The gite has everything you would need and the pool and garden make for a perfect rest. We look forward to our return trip.

We have recently stayed with James and Michelle and their lovely children Syd and Flyn. Thank you Syd for making Grace's holiday extra special and being her friend for 2 weeks. You became part of the family and we miss you!!!

Gite 2 where we stayed had been recently renovated to a very high standard. The Gite was clean and had everything that you needed for a 2 week holiday. James and Michelle were always on hand if you needed anything done or just with their wonderful knowledge of the surrounding area and giving you ideas of places to visit and eat. They even had extra pillows if you needed them!!!

The swimming pool was a joy as the weather was lovely and hot most days and it was wonderful to be able to come out of your Gite and go for a swim to cool down.

The location was excellent to explore the beautiful scenery and very close to a number of wonderful sandy beaches which never seemed to get too busy. We also went canoeing closeby which was a wonderful experience and good family fun. There are lots of nice restaurants in Capestang and also good supermarkets closeby.

I would say that this was one of our most favourite holidays with everything that we needed and wanted to do - We will go back as there were still so many places to explore and the holiday was definitely made even more special because of the hospitality that was shown to us by James, Michelle and the children. Thank you all for making our holiday a time to remember.

Gite 2 offers the perfect home from home, a really nicely refurbished old building, with all the comforts you could need - and we had the feeling that if there was anything else we did need, the owners would have gone out of their way to provide it. Lovely hosts too with great suggestions for days out. I feel we hardly scratched the surface with the local places of interest, there are so many places left to see, we'll have to go back!

Our stay in Capestang was all (and more) that we had hoped for: sun, fun and total relaxation. Highlights for us included Narbonne, Carcasonne, the swimming pool (with inflatable whale) and scrummy food from the local market. We were lucky enough to be the first official visitors in Gite 2 so needless to say everything was spotlessly clean. The gite was the perfect place to kick back and relax yet situated near enough to the local amenities and well-placed for exploring further afield. The owners and children made us very welcome: a special thanks to Finlay and Sydney for sharing the arrival of two new pet rabbits with Erin and Ailis. We all loved our time at Capestang: we WILL be back.....
