This spacious property, dating from 1880, stands in 15 hectares of wheat fields, on the west bank of the Orb river opposite which rise the ramparts of Béziers, crowned by the majestic rose window of the cathedral. The elegant backdrop to the terrace garden, the pool, and the orchard/meadow beyond, and the luxuriant shrubbery, palms and trees, including a fine plane tree, make of this “domaine” an oasis of restfulness. You can spend hours sun-bathing, swimming in the pool or reading in the shade. The swimming pool is 64 m2, depth from 2.6 ft (0.80m) to 9.2 ft (2.80m), entered by steps and with safety ledge all around is very large within a nice environment. The swimming pool faces southwest for a maximum sun. The house has eastern exposure, so you can have breakfast in the sun, lunch in the sun or in the shade as you prefer. And in the evening you can treat yourself to a candle-light diner in the garden (night lighting available).

Notes to the rental rates

• All prices are per week from saturday 4pm to saturday 9 am. On booking, a 40% deposit is required, and the balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
  Damage deposit 400 € - Final cleaning 70 €, All linen ( sheets + towels + towels for the swimming pool) is included as well as cleaning products.

' Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here during June 2007. The house is full of character and history. It is very spacious, with high ceilings and large rooms. But the best part is the outdoors. French doors from both the kitchen and sitting room open out onto a substantial furnished terrace which is very private and has both sun and shade. The views are over the river to the cathedral of Beziers. The gardens are substantial with lots of mature trees, plants and flowers. We spent most of our time either on the terrace or at the pool. The pool is in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees for shade (and well fenced and gated for children). It is well maintained and a good size for swimming and play. The furnishing throughout the house, terrace and pool is both practical and comfortable.

The house is located in the countryside but right beside Beziers. We found it an ideal base for touring the coast, the Haut Languedoc, with it's beautiful villages, rivers and mountain walks and the Pyrenees, all within an hours drive. We found Nathalie to be friendly, helpful and discreet. She arranged babysitting and cleaning services for us and also made reservations for us at a number of wonderful restaurants, which she recommended.' Mrs Carol COUSIN
