Domaine de Saint-Apolis is ideally located for a perfect summer holiday for both the beach and the countryside. Set in the Languedoc countryside, surrounded by vineyards and meadows the cottages are only 12km away from Mediterranean beaches. Fifteen years ago the owner converted the authentic XVIIc. buildings of this very picturesque old hamlet into a selection of 9 beautiful holiday homes. There is a choice of spacious two and three bedroom houses all equipped to modern standards and individually decorated. Each villa has its own secluded private garden complete with barbecue and furniture - an ideal self- catering rental. Guests share access to a large swimming pool, private parking. Domaine de Saint-Apolis is a haven of tranquility in the heart of all the touristic riches of Languedoc-Roussillon. There are a selection of 9 holiday gites which can sleep between 4 to 7 people.

Lovely selection of three spacious two bedroom cottages that comfortably accommodate up to 5 people. Hidden in their own private gardens they have been charmingly renovated in the authentic style of the buildings. They are all equipped to modern standards and have one double bedroom and one twin-bedded rooms with views on the private gardens or the traditional roofs. Internet access is available

Perfect authentic rural location with easy access to the Mediterranean beaches and surrounding local sight seeings and activities. Many golf courses are within a 20 minute drive. For 2007 the property is ideally located for the World Cup Rugby and is within easy driving distance from Montpellier and Toulouse.

What to do in the immediate surroundings: Domaine de Saint-Apolis is ideally located 5km from Pezenas. Also known as the 'Little Versailles' of Languedoc, Pezenas is famous for it's architechture and its summer Festival of Arts and Music. There are exhibitions and concerts and many free performances as the town was so closely linked with Molière and his 'Illustre Théatre'. There is also a very colourful and traditional market every Saturday in the old part of town that is not to be missed.

Our recent stay at Saint-Apolis

Very enjoyable stay and excellent value special last minute rental rate. We stayed in a very clean and fully equipped appartment with 3 levels and two bathrooms. Just being the two of us this gave us plenty of room to spread out. Francoise the 'Guardien' was extremely helpful although our French was not too good and her English is also limited. Fresh bread and pastries delivered each morning meant once we had visited a supermarket we hardly needed to leave our apartment. As we had previously visited this area we were aiming for a relaxing, lazy week with just a little sight seeing and that's how it was! Weather was very warm and the top bedroom did get very hot during the day and night. There is no air conditioning so I can imagine the apartment being very hot later in the season. Rightly or wrongly, we went out and bought an electric fan and this did make a big difference. We left it in the flat so it maybe will come in useful for other guests. Pool was very clean and great for young children. Can be a bit noisy but we were able to also relax in the sun outside our apartment. While we were there a few of the apartments were empty including the one next to ours so it was very peaceful. All terraces have privacy hedges and trees but this also puts them in shade for part of the day (welcome at times!). Would recommend Saint-Apolis as a great base for visiting the surounding area. Marseillan is our favourite area to visit - it has a pretty harbour and some nice restraunts & cafes to sit and watch the world go by. Not to be confused with Marseillan Plage!Yes, we we hope to visit Saint-Apolis again.
