Luxuriously newly renovated 400 year old town house. Three storey property, with a spacious lounge on the 2nd floor leading to a private terrace, plus one double bedroom. On the 1st floor, 2 double bedrooms plus 1 shower room with WC. Ground floor large fully fitted kitchen diner, plus 2nd shower room, and separate WC each having wash hand basins. Many original features including:- Exposed beams, Original Stone Arch Door way leading into one of the bedroom, which also has natural stone walls. Peaceful location, with secure parking available for a small additional fee. The house has everything you could want for a very relaxing luxurious holiday, in the wonderful village of Pomerols. Pomerols is famous for its wines, which can be tasted and purchased just 5 mins walk from the house. In July and August there are village fetes, which you are welcome to attend. If you need help we live in the village and are there only if required. The property & village has the WOW facture............

Pomerols is situated just 10 mins drive from the beautiful clean sandy beaches of the warm Mediterranean Sea. The Town of Pezanas is 15 mins drive north where you can search for wonderful Antiques, shop in the little local craft stores, and amaze at the Architecture. The ancient town of Agde is 8 mins drive westward nestling on the river Herault & Canal Du Midi. 20 mins drive eastwards it the ferry port of Sete, locally known as little Venice due to the canal system. This region is famous for its Wines, Seafood, especially Oysters, Mussels and Tuna, all of which can be sampled in any of the many restaurant. Pomerols has a restaurants/ bar, plus a pizza take away. A Post Office, Supermarket, Butchers, three Bakers (The Croissants just melt in your mouth....) Tabac, Hairdressers. Monday and Thursday mornings are markets days. Pomerols has the best of all worlds, we are sure that you will just love it here.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 30% reservation is requested to reserve your booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable deposit of £150 is required with the balance to cover any possible breakages or damage and to ensure that the house is left in a clean and tidy condition. Bookings for longer than 2 weeks ask for special rates. Don't forget your holiday insurance. July and August change over day is Saturday. However, we are flexible regarding start days other times of the year to suit your travel requirements/, as flights are often less expensive midweek and your stay can be as long or as short as you wish. You are welcome to take over the house between 1600 and 1900 and we ask you vacate by 10am on your final morning. We will send you detailed instructions to find the house and a local map and ask you to call us during the week before your holiday so we can discuss your arrival arrangements and key collection.
  • The house will be cleaned before arrival with linen and towels & beach towels. At an additional cost we can arrange a cleaning service during your holiday if you so wish.
  • There is a tourist information pack at the house

So much to do.: Just a car journey away is the beautiful ancient walled city of Carcasonne, or visit another National Site....Saint Guilhem le Desert, this is a fatastic village built in the valley of two mountains. There are caves to explore, rivers for fishing, kayaking. Gardens where you can take a gentle stroll, museum's regarding the local history. This area has something for all ages.

Lovely house in a lovely village. Friendly local shops. Wonderful.
Owner's Response: We have had many people of all ages stay at our house from all over the world, Some for only a week, others for long term rent up to a five month stay. Several people ( who we now like to think as friends) have returned more than twice. If you would also like to experiance true French life whilst having a wonderful holiday in an area that has everything you could wish for. Our holiday home in Pomerols is the place for you. This is a wonderful little house. We found it beautifully clean and cared for. The main bedroom is spacious and comfortable. We spent wonderful evenings on the roof terrace either eating dinner or drinking red wine. This is a great base for touring the area and I would recommend it highly. A car is an essential but there are local shops and a great chocolate shop and bakers just round the corner.

Friendly Pomerols

We have stayed in this village house twice for a 6 week period and on each occasion we have found the house more than comfortable and conveniently located for numorous sight seeing excursions. Jean and David have gone out of there way to ensure a hassle free holiday and have become good friends.
The best is all close at hand! Marseillan, Meze, Adge Pezenas, Bouzigues, Sete and the list goes on. Each town offering delightful restaurants and sites to see.
Further afield there are the wonders of Carcassone, Montpellier and Beziers. But they are just the beginning as the Spanish border is only an hour away and it opens up a whole new experience.
The village of Pomerols has 2 good bakeries, a butcher and small mini-mart, and of course the Cave, which produces very good wine. The Picpoul, for which this area is known, is so good!!
We had a wonderful time with our family and have recommended it to many people for a stay in the south of France.
We are always sad to leave this friendly house and village!

Group holiday

In August last year (2007) I stayed in this house with four friends for a week. As soon as we arrived we all fell in love with the place! Every room was fully furnished and we had everything we needed. The bedrooms had all the luxuries of home and accommodated us perfectly. We ate out on the terrace each day and in the evenings went into town or to one of the nearby towns to eat - none of which were very far away (short drive or taxi journey). We also relaxed at the nearby beaches, shopped in Sete and Cape D'Agde and drove North to the caves (Grottes de Clamouse). The house is also a short walk from the nearby winemakers which produces a great variety of wines (nearly all of which we sampled...).

The owners provided a notice board in the house with lots of pamphlets and maps of the local area and nearby towns/attractions.The house was our home away from home and we all agree that we'd come back again and again :)

An enjoyable break

A well equipped house in a quiet village. Both the house owners and locals were friendly, and full of helpful advice and information. The house owner even helped us out on a subsequent occasion when her house was not available.

The house was well presented with plenty of village house character. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms spacious, and the bathrooms modern. The stairs are steep and typical of village houses.

There is plenty to see in the vicinity - Carcassonne, Montpellier for the shopping, Marseillan for enjoyable dining, and along the coast for spectacular sea views.

Would we recommend this property? Yes, and we would visit it again.
