Pezenas is a beautiful medieval market town in the heart of the sunny Languedoc wine region. There is an outstanding array of historic buildings, including some fine 16th and 17th century architecture, many of which are open to the public. The town also has numerous bars and restaurants; a variety of clothing shops; art and craft shops in the medieval quarter (in which many buildings have been restored to their former glory). There are also, of course, those wonderful French boulangeries to tempt you with the aroma of freshly baked bread, and all within a couple of minutes walk from the house. The Saturday market is one of the best in France.
Les Vollets is less than 25 mins drive from the long golden beaches at Agde, Vias and Marseillan. Other attractions include walking or cycling along the banks of the beautiful Canal du Midi, shopping in the boutiques of Montpellier and Bezier, sightseeing in the cathederal cities of Narbonne and Carcasson and visiting the many wine domaines.
