On the edge of the medieval town of Pezenas. This elegant townhouse retains much of its original character including the high beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and a timber paneled staircase. Les Volletts is an attractive and spacious four bedroom house surrounded by vineyards. The accommodation is laid out over three/four floors with the main living area on the first floor leading out onto two large terraces and a private swimming pool (22ft by 12ft). This ‘maison to maitre’ is located on a quiet road just five minutes walk from the medieval town centre. Pezenas, with its narrow cobbled streets and beautiful architecture, is a charming town with numerous antique and craft shops to explore as well as over 40 excellent restaurant, cafes and bars. Les Vollets is located less than 30 minutes from some of the Mediterranean’s finest beaches, the Canal du Midi and the cities of Bezier and Montpellier.

Pezenas is a beautiful medieval market town in the heart of the sunny Languedoc wine region. There is an outstanding array of historic buildings, including some fine 16th and 17th century architecture, many of which are open to the public. The town also has numerous bars and restaurants; a variety of clothing shops; art and craft shops in the medieval quarter (in which many buildings have been restored to their former glory). There are also, of course, those wonderful French boulangeries to tempt you with the aroma of freshly baked bread, and all within a couple of minutes walk from the house. The Saturday market is one of the best in France. Les Vollets is less than 25 mins drive from the long golden beaches at Agde, Vias and Marseillan. Other attractions include walking or cycling along the banks of the beautiful Canal du Midi, shopping in the boutiques of Montpellier and Bezier, sightseeing in the cathederal cities of Narbonne and Carcasson and visiting the many wine domaines.

Very Young Children: As the tiled stairways are not fitted with childproof gates and the swimming pool has no shallow end (5 - 6 foot deep throughout) the house may not be suitable for very young children and toddlers.

Access: Beziers Cap D'agde (25mins) is the nearest International airport with regular daily flights from the UK (Stansted and Bristol). Alternatives are Montpellier (35mins), Nimes (45mins), Carcassone (1hr), Toulouse (2hrs) and Gerona (Spain) (2hrs). There are direct flights from Dublin to Carcassone, Toulouse and Gerona. All the airports have car hire available.
